I’d be willing to wager no one in the thread could be able to discuss what socialism actually is for more than five seconds

Tell us what it is. Because no matter who gives the definition
You are bound to disagree with

Guys, my point about socialism are the incremental changes. Over time, the government nationalizes more and more things and then the president usurps more and more power .

Wow we got some real high-level thinking here. Tell me Kenny, what industries have the Democrats shown interest in nationalizing?

I’m a smart guy, what can I say? It’s fun to toy with all those old angry fear-mongering Republicans

About the majority of Americans wanting nationalized healthcare, which we already have in place in minor form? Not really

Just to get a better look at Guaido. Looks like Obama, doesn't he?

CIA trained puppet plant. They thought adding Lopez to the party would give them some momentum, but it failed.

They must be getting frustrated. They (CIA and co.) blew up the hydroelectric plants and are trying to do everything without doing a direct topping by force.

This walk down memory lane is just tremendous:

Chavez became the bugaboo of American politics because his full-throated advocacy of socialism and redistributionism at once represented a fundamental critique of neoliberal economics, and also delivered some indisputably positive results. Indeed, as shown by some of the most significant indicators, Chavez racked up an economic record that a legacy-obsessed American president could only dream of achieving.

:ohno:

Note how it is socialism when it is going well (if you ignore the murder of political opponents, starvation and abject poverty) and it isn't socialism when it collapses.

Lol. You do realize we already have Medicare and Medicaid right?

Yeah, and that doesn't mean that American's health care system is nationalized. In fact, since those are programs that are either means tested, or limited by age, it demonstrates the exact opposite.

It’s a government-run aspect of the industry. That has demonstrated to be soundly run as well. You know what nationalized means right? Because it seems like maybe you don’t

"Soundly run"

LOL

I've been working in health care longer than you've been an adult.

Neither Medicare or Medicaid demonstrate a nationalization of health care. The VA is an example of a nationalized aspect because the government actually runs the facilities and the doctors work for the government.

Your effort to "own the cons" is off to a horrendous start here.

Seriously, if you think Medicare or Medicaid are "soundly run" you might want to get off of here and so some reading. (Medicare is going insolvent and anyone above the poverty line purchases supplemental insurance. And, the number of providers who take Medicaid is shrinking. Probably because they're so awesome).

If you think Medicaid, essentially a reimbursement program to for-profit health care providers, means health care is in any way "nationalized" you need to stop talking about the topic and get a clue.

Left wingers are legends in their own minds which is always cute though.

Regulations
Higher taxes
$ 15 minimum wage
Obamacare
Gun control
Preventing the free practice of religion (well Christianity anyhow)
Student loans
Mortgages

Are all acts of nationalizing our economy. They all give more power and more control to the federal government, which defies the intent of the founding fathers

“You have a group that have had no primary care, and now when they go to access the primary care, they find out it’s a month before they’re going to get in. There’s a limited number of providers that take Medicaid. Everybody doesn’t take Medicaid, and all specialists don’t take Medicaid,” Carrison said.

^ Probably because Medicaid is run so well.

Here is more fun reading for anyone interested in how these programs work.

Access to Care: Provider Availability in Medicaid Managed Care

WHAT WE FOUND
We found that slightly more than half of providers could not offer appointments to enrollees. Notably, 35 percent could not be found at the location listed by the plan, and another 8 percent were at the location but said that they were not participating in the plan. An additional 8 percent were not accepting new patients.

Socialism sucks and it will kill you.
