Not for nothing but this is the NFL. Do you really think that they have a criminal acts investigation division?

I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and look at this infraction through the lens of the NFL QBs past and present who have said that this ball doctoring is standard operating procedure.

Quit hating and look again. What if they flagged your QB and team for doing something "everyone" does?

The rule states that there should be a "minimum 25K fine". OK that's the guideline. Fine and move on. Hell, they don't even need to interview Brady. This thing is only on overkill because it's Brady, Bellichick, and Kraft.

Mich, I'm not a hater. I think brady is best qb of all time and I've always liked them but the reason it's a big story is because they have a history of cheating.

That brady press conf was embarrassing. He should just admit that he has the equipment people deflate the ball. I mean, man up Tom

I think Brady knew, vit. I'm really not sure about Bellichick. But I also really don't think that Brady thought it was any big deal to be doctoring the ball to his satisfaction. Why else would the league give each team their own set of balls from which to choose gameballs? Why not the same ball supplied at gametime by the NFL for both teams? I think it's entirely possible that Brady was unaware of such a rule.

Point is when past and present (number growing) NFL QBs say that they also doctored their balls it seems to be an area of the game that nobody paid attention to. Until some hater wanted to stick it to B&B.

Fine them like the rule says and move on.

The fact that other qb's are saying its common practice....makes it even worse that he stood up there and lied about it. Everyone would have more respect for him in this case if he just said "hey, sorry I thought it was common practice and it's my mistake". Instead he chose this way, which seems to be the pats way in dealing with everything when caught.

I wouldn't doubt if Goddell told brady and billichick to deny and they would sort it out after the super bowl. The nfl isn't above doing anything to save a dollar

Don't the referees touch the football before every play? It's on them.......And if it isn't required of them then apparently its not a big deal anyway...

I agree that Brady should have manned up. Don't like lying. Never would have taken that approach myself. But I sure don't like how there has been a piranha gospel meeting over this either. This is being blown way out of proportion.

Get the amount of the fine out there and move on.

I'm starting to think they may have dropped the ball, very possible. Not taking Brady off the hook. But who knows if he submitted balls that were light and the official said "close enough". Once Indy complained at halftime they brought in the back up balls. Plausible.

If Brady or Belichick get caught lying publicly things will be worse for them.

Rodgers did admit to submitting over filled balls. Fuck it if they aren't going to stop them why not try.

We are way past a fine and move on. Because this team has a history, I think there will be substancial suspensions coming...but godell would never cook the golden goose before the super bowl....he is the most gutless and inept commish any pro sports has ever seen

That there should be a fine and the amount of the fine for this infraction is written into the rule. History has only something to do with it in your head. Nowhere in the rule does it say that history should be considered before levying said fine.

Fine tomorrow and move on.

I hate to break it to ya but the nfl makes up rules as it goes. Just look at ray rice and adrain peterson...they didn't follow the book rules on any of that, in fact, they changed their decisions by the hour. Of course the history matters, the team has cheating infractions, it's what they do....that will be considered when punishing them.

Way to answer the Junior know-it-all who has to have 50 posts on this non-topic every day.

Take your Meds you envious little spazz.

I didn't even do anything to deserve you directing your whiny sad attacks my way.

All I did was ask you to use your brain.

When I had no way of realizing that you have the serious problems that you do.

I did nothing to you now leave me alone you catankerous old bitch.
