I would say anything 50k or above for a single person you are living good. If you have a family then obviously you would need more.

If you are single out of college making 60k-70k I have a few friends like that and they are living the life

Lots of quasi-socilaist bullshit

You've got to be kidding. The poor in America live better than all but the upper echelon of the global elite did a century ago.

I started a line-by-line address of those idiotic "resolutions" but then decided it would be better left alone if for no other reason of conserving bandwidth. Government interference in the economy is the single greatest contributor to poverty in history; whatever fvcknut website you copied and pasted these reccomendations from should be DDOS'd.

Think we are all broke at our own level.

Here on the East Coast, NY, NJ area. You need 6 figures just to be comfortable.
With college and such for kids, putting away for retirement, going on a couple of vacations, you need $100-$150,000.00 for a nice lifestyle and that believe me is still not enough.

The housing here alone is $300g for a Townhouse and $350-$750,00 for a 3, 4 or 5 bedroom house.
Nothing special that you cant get for half that in Florida and such.

Such is life.

Living expenses are fairly cheap down in most parts of Florida. Retirees come not only for the weather but their pensions and retirement plans stretch pretty nicely. Too many variables to put a firm number on any of it but 75k for a couple is plenty if they have their house already.

If you don't want to feel strapped fr cash, I think $50,000 per family member is a good number. So if you have a wife and 2 kids, $200,000 would be a good living. If you have 4 kids, you'd want closer to $300,000

red007 and Marc hit it on the nose. If you don't make at least 200k in the US you arent living too good. Of course you can have a nice car and home on less but you cant save. At 200k you should be able to live good and save at least 50k a year.

According to the democratic presidential canidates if your a family of 4 making 50k a year your rich and you should be taxed further. To support criminal immigrants, needles for junkies, turkey basters for lesbians and inner city bastard factories and to reward failure and other bad behavior ...Its beyond absurd.

Do you have any factual references to support this, or did you get this one from a Rush call-in again?

So what would you Americans consider a good income?

One that gets my bills paid and keeps my family happy with a roof over their head & food on the table is plenty to make me happy.

I would think that PLUS a little extra to do things you want, ex. vacation/going out to dinner things such as that

100K a year, you people are dreaming; such jobs no longer exsist, with the influx of H-1B immigrants ding american work for less, also most companies take the 100 K, job and pay workers $30,000.00. To be honest the best people can do now especially in the north east is 30K.

I personally think that a person living on their own who makes over $$$45,000 is well off.

Current Income Gross - Salary 40,000 Education - BS Degree in Finance
Marital Status Single

* Income is too low for proper savings or mortgage payment.

Projected Need an extra $250 month - savings and $1,200 - mortgage...so if I made 61,500 Gross I would be living very good in my county as a single person.
