The statement obtained by USA TODAY Sports: "We requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator. That video was not made available to us and no one in our office has seen it until today."

That woman must live in constant fear, which I assume is the main reason she married Rice. If he does get cut by the Ravens, I can see him blaming her - a frightening thought. I don't understand the reasons why women in these type of relationships keep going back to the abuser, but it happens quite a lot I think. Yet Chris Mortenson spoke about the incident IN JULY and he describes EXACTLY what happened in the video. League sources gave him those details about what happened in the elevator. So some shady things are going on. I'm now guessing the league including Roger Goodell saw that video.

In no way was it ok what he did. He could have held her off without knocking her out

But I work in and around similar culture and you are 100 percent correct. Just today I saw a guy in crutches because his girlfriend hit him in the head with a frying pan, knocked him out, and broke his leg.
