I think you have to respect the people who own and run the place.
If you disagree about something or want to discuss something do it respectfully. Not that hard.
But I think a "flagging" point system is well intended but wouldn't mean much if I were running things. At least a few of us have come into this thread and said that we have never flagged or in any way reported anyone. It doesn't mean that we don't get put off by selected fellow posters. It just means that we believe in freedom of speech and coexistence.
This flagging point system would interpret to the loudest, most relentless bitches (flaggers) would get a disproportionate say in who exactly the problem posters are. That ain't right.
There is something that I think there should be a short leash of tolerance for - when posters are calling others by the most heinous things they can think of. Like pedos or wife beaters. Nobody should have to endure those falsehoods on a public board.
If Mags was one of the guys responsible for that type of name calling I think a stern reprimand was in order. I know those ack and forths go on periodically but I pay no attention to juvenile borad spats so I'm really not sure who the culprits are.
Of course the stuff Dufinch spouts daily debases the board. I think he steps beyond the line frequently.
Otherwise I'm all for coexisting and getting along. The flag system does seem to encourage bitching. I'm not for that. In fact if I had someone on the board who was constantly bitching about other posters I'd seriously consider giving HIM the boot.

Like any business, it doesn't matter what any one individual thinks, ultimately the market will decide.
Yes, taunting a mod is as dumb as showboating a cop, however banning a poster for a gif (in the RR, no less) is equally unwise and a very bad look. This thread is living proof of that.
Football season will be awesome IMO, a lot of guys that harassed and bashed on a few sports posters here are banned and won't be coming back, and I personally PMd some of these football posters and assured them it wouldn't happen like years past, if it does happen again with a duplicate account, I'll ban them again
Play or fade, it's not that hard to do
Some of you know what I'm talking about, maybe even a few jumped on these bashers saying there was no need for that kind of nonsense, and there isn't, if that's your bag go to OSB or Covers
