I don't know, Dante. You're scaring me. Trekkies are scary people.

Dante, don't sweat it. I just saw you pumping up Star Trek, that's all. I took one look at that place at the Hilton, and ran away. Used to work with a Trekkie....dude was nuts. Reminded me of the guy that led that cult a few years ago and they all killed themselves to get on the spaceship to heaven.

I never got into Star Trek, but I look back and see it could have been cool.

while at the LVH for the trekkie thing, get in a little FP pick'em, and try your luck at shot at 1mil. with a new players card sign up.

have fun!

Great advice!

Check the cherry pie slots too, if still there.

Doubt it.

For a first time visitor I would recommend

Caesar's Palace - in many ways it comes closest to old fashioned Las Vegas ambiance, and the Forum Shops are nice to visit and walk through

Other places that are nice to check out and walk through are Bellagio, Mirage and Venetian (also nice shopping area to walk around).

For happening places to hang out with younger crowds, try Hard Rock, Mandalay and maybe the Palms. I don't like the stuff at MGM.

Best Buffet: Bellagio

Best shows - see if there is a headliner in town, or Mama Mia is very good, and if you never have seen a Cirque show check out "O" or "Mystere"

New York New York has a nice outdoor rollercoaster and if you are on the strip take the bus downtown one night and see freemont street.

i think we're staying on freemont street, so we'll be able to visit all the cheap buffets. I'm excited about the stratosphere-the roller coaster sounds awesome.

well if your staying on freemont the ONLY place to stay is the golden Nugget IMHO...most of the other hotels are sorta run down:icon_conf For example the Hotel at last years bash where Fishhead dropped 500 into the video poker infront of Me and Gator LT's eyes looked like you can go to your room after you do that and hang yourself it was so depressing..I think its was binions ..

MAIN STREET STATION and FREMONT both have very good buffets that go unnoticed by many that visit downtown.

Everybody and their pet ferret thinks the GN has the best buffet downtown.

Wrong!

Try MAIN STREET STATION, believe it to be better.

The only buffet that I believe is worth paying for in Vegas is the Rio Seafood Buffet, not their other buffet. I think most of them are overpriced, and very average food. Would prefer to grab a hot dog and coke at the NY NY behind the sports bar. And spend my money at the craps table. And I had a $30 plate of spaghetti at the Venetian that was no better than what I can make at home. I think the great food is a myth.

Softball chick, I would really think about staying on the Strip or just off of it, if you have never been there before. Tuscany Suites is my favorite place to stay. Huge, nice rooms and just down the street from Bally's. And fairly cheap price, too. You will be disappointed downtown, and it will be a pain to constantly get cabs to the Strip.
