It's stealing.

It's illegal.

For a website to tolerate it is VERY illegal.

I don't want any suits over it, I want the practice STOPPED.

I'm a tout. It hurts MY industry when people do this.

max1234....great post!

Biff, good luck with your profession, we agree to disagree on the integrity of it. I will not call a service, nor do I look at any reports to see what they are playing. Good luck to you and all your sheep.

NO, this site doesn't seem to have a problem with giving away the picks of touts. Why, well, Biffy, you just don't seem to get it, do you. Selling picks just isn't what most people on this site would call an honorable profession. Why not? It might be the unethical behavior of certain individuals in your chosen profession. Like giving out both sides of a game, calling players at home, flipping a coin without actually trying to cap a game... shit like that. Now we all know you'd never do such things. You might cause a player to go broke when you start having a bad spell but that's ok... you got paid already, didn't you.

If someone doesn't value my picks, they don't need to steal them, and if they DO value them, they should pay for them.

I've been posting 55+ percent winners all season in hoops, was profitable from a limited number of picks last year (including War Emblem as one of two top Derby picks and Maryland to win the Final Four at +220).

I don't get it? Oh, I get it just fine. Like I said, why give these touts grounds for suing if they are so dishonorable?

So many people steal on the internet that you almost have to charge the first customer what you used to charge your entire client base.

Gee, I posted a winning LOCK.

As I've said before, messing with someone's business or their copyrighted information can cause severe legal consequences, whether or not you have respect for the victim.

I doubt anyone here would mouth off to the feds or to the courts they way they are mouthing off to me.

Biff-
Answer Intruder's question. You DO only sell picks to folks in Vegas or where gambling is considered legal. Of course you do! You have an answer for everything. You are like the guy who sells illegal cable boxes that says "Once they leave the dock, I have no control over what someone does with them." That's fine, it keeps touts like you out of jail. But guess what, there's this thing called the Internet. People will always share information and there ain't a damn thing you can do about it. Like I said before, continue concentrating on the novice clientele that don't come to these boards. If you worried more about expanding your business than concentrating on shutting everyone here down, you would be surprised- you might actually make more money!

Copyright law, the feds, your a regular riot norton, like all the forces of the criminal justice system will be called into play to protect Mike the scammer Warren. Posting their picks exposes the frauds and dishonest nature of most of these wannabe's .

Ziggy-
Agreed, the Rubber room is the place for this nonsense. I regret getting carried away with guys like this but it gets your blood flowing a little. Even HiltonEd had the sense not to chime in more, and he agrees with Biff!

Funny thing is, I don't even care about the charged picks to begin with. I use my own judgement and the help of great cappers like NYReb, Guru, NYSports and others. Whatever- I'm off to enjoy the SB.

Biff-

What in the hell is the DMCA? Secondly, do you really think the feds or lawyers give a hoot about some minor thing like this? Sue people???? What the hell?? Look at Napster, it ran for years blatantly giving away property that had a real value (unlike these tout plays) and in the end got a cease and desist order. Really now, do you see any ambulance chasing lawyers taking your "big case" here? Go waste time somewhere else, you are trying to ruin this place w/ your posts and making us all dumber for having to read them. Go lobby Congress to make a law explicitly stating you can't post plays on the Rx and then maybe I will listen. Also, you are gambling which is illegal in 49 of 50 states in the U.S. If you are such a law abiding citizen and care about all this why don't you tell us all we are breaking that law and should only bet in Vegas?

Biff you are full of bull.I have been a services for over twenty-five years and their ain't nothing you can do about it.If they are given away for nothing, its to bad.Services that offer others picks do so by selling you THEIR picks and giving you everyone elses picks.

It's starting....

Sorry, Biffy, you haven't been 55+% all year. That's easy to track. You've been close, but you're already lying and you haven't even posted your website yet. And as far as last year went, you're conviently posting your higlights. You tried to pick that "5 outa 8" you always bragged about and then quickly gave up. You're a scammer at heart.... you just proved it with your last post.

Here's my contribution to this interesting philosophical exchange.

If I receive information and wish to share with whomever I want free of charge, it isn't illegal. It doesn't matter whether it's info from a sports service, a stock analyst or an auto engine designer. As long as I do not attempt to earn an additional benefit by releasing this information, I have broken no laws. It isn't copyright infringement, either.

On the other hand, if someone turns around and sells this information, as consensus services do, it's blatantly illegal. Not that this matters much, as the amount of time and money one would have to spend to pursue and litigate against such a pirate would be ridiculously counterproductive and likely futile from a financial standpoint.

What's perhaps most fascinating about all this is that the second hand information that makes its way onto pages and sites such as this is frequently inaccurate. In essence, those bent on gaining free access to the selections of their favorite (or perhaps least favorite) touts end up getting the wrong information as an end result.

One further note is that it is definitely not illegal in any way to sell pointspread selections to a person living outside of Nevada. It's considered strictly dissemination of information which is legal. At one time, any firm having anything to do with sports wagering (including newspapers throughout the country) had to include a tag line that stated that the information was not to be used to violate any state, federal or local laws. That apparently is no longer necessary.

Why are you even here. Your obviously not here to help people, which is what this site is all about. If all your going to do is cause trouble and have %99 of the Rx community to not like you then why don't you just post somewhere else. It's obvious you WERE going to try and sell us your picks somewhere down the line. NOT NOW!! Nobody likes your ass anymore. Now there is no reason for you to post here anymore, you can't gain the respect of our fellow cappers by bitching and threatening others. GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a shame this has turned out to be. Some of us were having a friendly discussion about the topic & now it has turned into a name calling session.

If they want to post service plays they should make a new section in the forum as I've seen other forums do this & it works out great as it keeps the main sports areas clean & lets people go to their own section to beg away.

Oh yes, casinos WANT winners, and any site they sponsor is going to send over a truckload of them, of course!

By "help" are you talking about things like Guru's little 14-20 run?

Or maybe the "suicide parlay" posts designed to get people into a mindset of betting way over their heads?

Shrink picked SIXTY PERCENT winners for a FULL YEAR when he was a service (i.e., before the casinos sponsored him). How much of that percentage has he shared with YOU, lately? I mean, the guy only gets the games of the best syndicate in the country, don't you think he could HELP the masses here by sharing? Just how clueless IS everyone here?

How many of you can outline a GUARANTEED (since that's what you want) method of making money using the "helpful" people on this board? Look for hot handicappers like guru?

Okay, let's make sure he's hot...hmm....69-51, must be good! Follow him....oops, 14-20......yeah, real helpful.

Don't be surprised if you bash touts and those who have knowledge bash back, and don't be surprised if people steal their work and the touts decide they won't tolerate it. We don't have to.

There is no defense to allowing this to continue on this site. Absolutely none.
