I've heard it said that Dan Harrington making the final table in 2003 and 2004 (3/839 and 4/2576) was a greater feat than Chan winning
it twice in a row.

Just think, he finished 2nd to Hellmuth or he would have won it 3 years in a row.

The Record that will 100% never be broken in Baseball is Fernando Tatis 2 Grand Slams in same inning. You would have to hit 3 Grand Slams in the same inning to break that record. How many MLB players have never hit a grand slam period?

On April 23, 1999, Tatís made history by hitting two grand slams in a single inning; the only player to do so in the history of the MLB. He hit both against Chan Ho Park of the Los Angeles Dodgers. With this feat, Tatís also set a Major-League record with eight RBI in a single inning

i don't know whats more amazing...... the 2 grand slams hit or the fact that chan ho park was left in the game to give both up.

I would agree with that because of the field size and style of play that Harrington had to deal with vs what chan had.

Jeremy Sonnenfeld bowled a 900 series.
Never before done, hasn't been done since.

In a college tournament in 1997, he bowled 3 300 games for Nebraska.

Can't be broken, you can't roll a 901 series.

Dave Schultz in hockey.
472 penalty minutes in one season.

If a Sean Avery type were to receive a five minute fighting penalty, every game in the 82 game season, he'd still fall way short.

Wilts 20,000 plus - do the math...

Ron Jeremy only claims about 2,000 (think I've seen at least half of them).

Nobody will ever break DiMaggio's record.

During the same dates of that 56 game streak as I recall DiMaggio batted .409 during those same 56 games Williams batted .422.

The record that would be impossible to break is Junior Stephens RBI's in 3 straight seasons by a shortstop 440. That amount of RBI's by a player of any position has not been reahed since 1941 by any player let alone shortstops.

His RBI record for a single year for shortstops of 159 in 1949 stands for the entire modern era 1903 to present and will unlikely ever be broken.

The ONLY thing DiMaggio ever did better then Teddy Ballgame was get in Marilyn's pants, but come to think of it everyone did that. Joe couldn't carry Ted's jock as a hitter. No one could. Remember if the rule re. sac flys was as it is now, it's been estimated Teddy would have hit approx. 425! 700 + HR if not for the service to his country. He was what John Wayne WISHED he was. A TRUE Mlb legend & hero. I guess you could say I "sort of" liked him.@):)

byron nelsons 11 consecutive victories in a row in 1945(a record that will NEVER come close to be broken
Agree with this. There are many records that may never be broken, but this is one that no one will ever even come close. Since 1953, Tiger is the only one to win more than 3 in a row!!

100% in agreement. I remember Williams coming back from the Korean War, he didn't go down to the minors like
they do today to get into playing shape & only had a brief batting practice session before in his first pinch hit appearence he made an out. That year he played in 37 games hit .407 batted about 90 times & hit .407 with 13 HR's. What a comeback.

After the 2nd World War he batted .342 in 46, DiMaggio in 46 his first year back hit .290.

Steve O'Neal's 98 yard punt is unbreakable because you cannot have a 99 yard punt.

Wilt Chamberlain 20,000 women.
According to Rod Roddewig, a contemporary of Wilt's, Chamberlain documented his love life using a Day-Timer. Every time Chamberlain went to bed with a different woman, he put a check in his Day-Timer. Over a 10-day period, there were 23 checks in the book, which would be a rate of 2.3 women per day. Chamberlain divided that number in half, to be conservative and to correct for degrees of variation. He then multiplied that number by the number of days he had been alive at the time minus 15 years. That was how the 20,000 number came into existence.

Some of these are impossible to break just because the game has changed so much

511 wins never ( likely 300 or so losses too ?), You just can't get that number of decisions in today's game, even a 300 game career winner is unlikely ever again !

I'm curious how BAS picked 1941 for the cutoff year ?

Cal's 2632 is a lock, no player would ever get the chance again, managers are going to rest you no matter what.

Some that are highly unlikely to be broken but not entirely impossible...

Batting .400
4,192 hits
Records like most this, most RBIs, homeruns ,wins, etc. In a season are pretty safe and not going to be broken.

Mr. O for 53 is pretty safe, too. It takes a perfect storm to accomplish that. A team with no prayer of even a wildcard, huge contract, no minor league options, untradeable, at this point he's probably even a draw and people will come to witness this home or away !

Wilt and 20k broads is almost certainly BS, probably closer to 2k

100 points in NBA could be done given a lot of things going just right
