Ugh, I feel stupid asking this question and needing to be filled in about TheRX gossip, however, what does WVU owe someone money for and how/why is he stiffing them?

I don't really care, but I see some mention of this posted in MANY threads and I'm always clueless as to what it means since I thought WVU was a respected guy around here....

Anyways, anyone care to elaborate?

He took a "shot" on a fellow poster by offering someone decent sized odds on Lakers to win the championship then disappeared before the finals while the poster was trying to contact him so he could possibly hedge and confirm their wager to no avail. He then reappears after the Celts win the title wanting his money

WVU offered 14:1 that LAL wouldn't win the title
Lapdance bet $1000 and put the money up with WhaleWagerer/CardsFan/George Jefferson, WVU didn't have to b/c "I am a mod, I am good for it"
LAL wins, wins, wins, WVU is nowhere to be found
WW/CF/GJ starts a thread asking for WVU and WTF they are going to do, WVU never shows up, everyone starts calling him a stiff saying he was free rolling Lapdance
WVU never responded to emails or posts from WW/CF/GJ
WVU shows up the day after Boston wins looking for his money with some lame excuses about where he was, why he wasn't posting (he was apparently ghosting and posting at EOG) and why he didn't respond to emails

That's the cliff notes version, there was a lot of back and forth drama about what to do with the money and whether or not WVU was free rolling Lapdance. In the end WVU was called a stiff before being even able to stiff someone, he was entitled to his money (which I think he got) and Lapdance never really entered the fray or tried to back down. In fact, Lap continued to say the bet was good and that WVU should get the money.

i won a bet for $150 in may. this is now july 10th and he says that he sent the money order. you guys have no idea how many times and how many stories i've heard from this guy.
why would i change my address if i'm the one being paid? why would i want the money to go somewhere else? why has it taken a month and a half for him to claim this?

email from june 2nd from celtic green

Just sent it certified this morning,

-Josh

ok, so you sent certified on june 2nd. lets see the reciept of the money order from 6-01 or 6-02
if you have that copy and post it, you can keep the 150

Lap, this is now the second person you've wagered with here and the second case of the other party accusing you of not giving them the proper information to finish the transaction. Why would this guy and WVU both say the same thing? WVU claims he's given his address to Wil on 3 different ocassions yet no money and this guy claims you keep giving him dodgy information. Perception is reality you know. I sided with you at first on the WVU situation but a trend has made an appearance and in both situations you're the problem.

Neither one of us knows whats really going on but why would lapdance try and sabotage getting himself the money? It's not like he is paying on his one...

It's just really weird you know? You and WVU have 100% different stories. I mean they're not similar or kind of a like but totaly different. He claims he's sent Wil his mailing address 3 times and you've sent him nothing. You say you've asked for his address on a number of occassions and he hasn't responded. WTF is going on there? Someone is just flat out full of shit. What I've asked myself in the last 5 seconds is after the fiasco with WVU why the F would you do another transaction with another poster?

Is there someone trust worthy who wants my gmail password, so they can see the entire thread of the emails between Lapdance and I? mods feel free to give out my email address, if someone who is a "rx senior" and has a bunch of posts wants to verify just shoot me an email /w your handle.

There's no receipt from USPS because I figured when I sent it out UPS /w tracking there'd be no problem. I do have my half of the money order AND the tracking number for the UPS envelope that went out the second time around (after the regular USPS envelope had been returned):

http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/...iryNumber=T&InquiryNumber1=1z3y96370244462558

Like I've said, the only thing that bugs me is that he gave me the wrong address, even after I'd asked him to double-check it, then called me a stiff after I had pointed out to him that the address was wrong.

The $150 isn't a big deal, and I went by the PO today and it seems like I'll get my money back either way... So given a bunch of folks think the debt must be paid, I'll pay it... BUT I'm not letting this guy call me a stiff and put the blame on me for not getting this done. It's clear he made a typo on the first email and then ignored it when I asked him to double-check it. It only bothers me that he'd forge the original to make it look like I'm the one who fucked up.

It took me a month because I considered the debt paid, after you gave me bad info for the SECOND time, but then you called me a stiff and said I was full of shit...

And btw, you can copy & paste all you want... It's meaningless because what I am accusing you of. If you want the money, I'll send it - AGAIN - for the THIRD time.

Not to get in the middle of this, but his post says the first attempt was made USPS and returned:

He gave me an address, and I sent him a money order via USPS /w delivery confirmation. This envelope was returned to my local post office marked "no such address". I was embarassed, because the winner of the bet thought I was BS'ing him. I sent him an email asking if the address was correct, which he said it was - so this time I sent it UPS 2-Day.

...It was the SECOND time I had sent it dude. See my post above?

Really, I don't know what else to say at this point... I feel like it's so obvious I'm not sure how else to explain.

If you didn't give him the right address, you can't fault him for not being paid.
