Yep

Has always been only a few who had a shot but last couple of years it's dropped to even less like you said.

All adds up to lack of star-power in the NBA these days.

Well, make that SuperStars as there is a difference between just stars.

A super-star in basketball automatically gives his team a shot at winning like no other sport.

Not many these days in the NBA...

Is is there a way to fix this or is this just an inherent problem with the game of basketball itself?

The NFL would not as popular as it is now if it had the same problem.

The 12th best team that makes the playoffs in the NFL has a better chance of winning the super bowl then the OKC Thunder have of winning an NBA title

Im not sure where the problem lies unless fewer are growing up playing the game of basketball.

I remember there was kind of stat in which a new dominant superstar center came along ever so many years.

It appears that ended with Shaq.

Yes there's Dwight Howard & even your very own Anthony Davis, but we can't truly lump them in with the greats who can swing a franchise 30 games in the win-loss column.

As for the other positions, once Kobe & Duncan are gone, that leaves LeBron & I guess maybe we have to say Curry now as those types of superstar franchise players.

Is there even a sign of a Jordan, Bird, Shaq, LeBron, David Robinson, Kobe etc. out there in college or high school right now??

If the NBA wanted to gain interest should dump 'All-Star Game' & change it to 'All-Star GAMES'.

Players at each position, guard, forward, and center, participate against each other one on one.

Give away like 5-10 Million to each winner.

Let players call each other out verbally just like fighters do leading up to the match.

The problem with making this happen?

Athletes these days, especially basketball players, have too much pride & fear in losing to what most would consider a lesser-known, or nobody.

No way Lebron James or others are going to risk getting whipped one on one vs others.

Game had a lot of interest with everyone I know. The 3 point contest was great, dunk contest was insane. The dunks Aaron Gordon did were on a different level. Plus Chuck and Kenny with Kev Hart in the booth was pretty damn funny.

Easiest way to fix it is contraction but that won't happen.

Maybe give the players a much greater incentive to stay with the team that drafts them. In the NFL, you don't see franchise qb's leaving ever unless they are no longer wanted.

Big difference between NBA and other professional sports is the star player controls everything. From front office to coaching staff to plays ran. Has there been a season that Lebron hasn't at least gotten to the conference finals in the last 10 year and he had some shitty players around him 1st stint in Cleveland. I bet only a couple may be on NBA rosters now.

With AAU starting so early, these guys are all best friends by time they get to the NBA. And then you have the high school "special programs" like Oak Hill and St. Patrick who pick their own players from hs teams across the country.

If I owned a middle of the road NBA team, I would tank too because unless you get Lebron, Durant,Duncan, Curry; it just doesn't matter.

There is a big difference. There is a reason blacks are called minority. These comparisons are silly. How about we go in any high officials board meeting in any company?

Also, I think most people can see that recognizing the difference between Will Smith and a white actor is a 50/50 thing. Seeing the difference between Michael Jordan and Steve Kerr is obvious.

Vit walks up to black people and apologizes for being white.

I actually watched about two minutes of play. I tuned in to see AD, y'know, the league's leading rebounder AD? and he was actually playing and grabbed a couple of boards, but I still couldn't watch any longer

just such ugly basketball
