I don't want to see any whites in the all star game that don't belong there - don't want to see any blacks at the Oscars that don't belong there either

First preview I saw with Will Smith's horrible accent I knew I didn't want to see it...
if there's an award for all-time worst accent in a feature film The Fresh Prince just got 2nd place

1) sandra bullock - the blind side
2) will smith - concussion

wish i boycotted watching that movie

I used to follow the NBA religiously.

Understood the game a bit cauz i played organized (only high school) & street ball my entire life up until recently & i believe that had a lot to do with me being successful in handicapping the NBA as well. (5 out of six documented winning seasons here on forums).

But as my interest in the game slipped, i stopped following, handicapping, and betting it.

Like some already said, it's garbage now.

As for this thread in general, the more i think about it, the more i think its dead on.

If we want to award those who don't deserve it, then why shouldn't it apply to everything?!?

It really isn't comparable. You can argue and make a case for an actor like Will Smith to be nominated.......you can't argue TJ McConnell over Steph Curry for all star selection.

NBA all star game is blackosity at its best. A bunch of coin flip baby's seeing who can do the most idiotic look at me thing.. They all come out dancing to some crap music while the others act like it is the funniest thing they have ever seen, then they all do some kinda half hug gang symbol handshake which somehow they still find humerous. Then when its time to get serious, "serious" means who can try the most ally oop dunks and then they have the vertical contest while dancing of course...Don't forget half of them are high as a kite before the post game festivities start which means going to the shitiest skankiest club where they can rape white women while finding it hysterical of course and leaving a tip of $0 to the waitress that had to look at them and hear them chimp out about the time he was disrespected by the po-leese

I'm sure Spike and Will will endorse this event though

If the NBA wanted to gain interest should dump 'All-Star Game' & change it to 'All-Star GAMES'.

Players at each position, guard, forward, and center, participate against each other one on one.

Give away like 5-10 Million to each winner.

Let players call each other out verbally just like fighters do leading up to the match.

The problem with making this happen?

Athletes these days, especially basketball players, have too much pride & fear in losing to what most would consider a lesser-known, or nobody.

No way Lebron James or others are going to risk getting whipped one on one vs others.

I like the game of basketball itself but it's too predictable .

There are only 3 teams this year that have a chance of winning it all(and that's stretching it).
You might as well say only 2 teams have a chance.

I go GS 60%
SA 30%
Cleveland 9%

all other teams combined less then 1%.

Yep

Has always been only a few who had a shot but last couple of years it's dropped to even less like you said.

All adds up to lack of star-power in the NBA these days.

Well, make that SuperStars as there is a difference between just stars.

A super-star in basketball automatically gives his team a shot at winning like no other sport.

Not many these days in the NBA...
