What should be illegal is online gambling. It destroys lives and leads to financial ruin. Also many of these operations are scams.

ridiculous...I must say...Booze was outlawed then came back....

Think anybody in the 1920'2 would be talking about gay marriages but they are talking about it now...

What about flying in planes or walking on the moon...I am sure it was talked about before it happed & I am sure many said "it would never happen"

It is closer & closer just north of you in Canada? other countries are decriminalizing...just 10 years can bring alot of change...

To say it would never happen is ridiculous...I bet you slave owners never thought their might be a black president someday...we are not there yet but are sure closer & closer are we not

I understand your arguments about saving gvt money, raising tax revenue, etc.

But there are 2 often ovelooked aspects:

1. All of the people who's jobs revolve around marijuana. Never mind all the coast guard, border patrol, etc. But also lawyers defending people from marijuana charges, a large portion of the DEA, drug counselors, probatiojn officers, drug detectives, etc, etc. I think the impact on the economy could be more than people realize.

2. What do you do with people who are serving time for marijuana? Say "sorry" and release them? Do they refund fines? Pay restsituion to people? I understand the laws aren't retroactive, but I could imagine a lot of litigation would come out. That's too big of an embarassment for the govt to handle, so they will continue the status quo.

Legal..if you have legal alcohol then no reason why weed shouldn't be. Personally I think it's safer then booze but both are mind altering and why one is okay but the other is not has no rational explanation. Alot of the drug issues we have would be solved by regulation. People aren't croaking from heroin they are croaking from the shit added to the heroin. Make it all legal..make it so it's kosher and not mixed with rat poison and you create an industry and solve alot of the problems that come with drugs. Bring it into light..outta the dark..the underworld

1. Maybe those resources could be directed towards human smuggling, harder drugs etc etc..it's not like weed is the only thing for the DEA or coasties to be chasing...let's keep weed illegal so the dea, coasties and lawyers have work is a crap argument.

well sub...

it woudnt be illegal if we legalized it, bootleg liquor isnt a big problem once liquor has been legalized...

Incidentally I truly beleive once regulated it will be more difficult for kids to get it than it is today.

In my teenage years booze was 100x harder to acquire then weed, coke, x, heroin etc etc..

It hurts the food service industry. Cooks aren’t the sharpest knives in the kitchen to begin with and the legalization of THC in the form of edibles has increased problems in the kitchen exponentially. Many are fucking high all the time.

Legalizing it doesn't preclude a business from drug testing, e.g. if you are operating heavy equipment or handling knives.
Booze is legal but you'd still get fired if you showed up for your kitchen shift drunk.

newbie...legalizing & paying taxes would still result in a cheaper price than current 'black market prices."

If Legal It would probable sell for 1$ a gram or less. Taxes might bring it up to 5$ a gram...Current costs are so high due to the "illegal" status of the drug.

Completely false

Keep it illegal. I have too many friends who are fat and lazy because of pot. Is it as bad as harder drugs, no I'm aware of that. But I still see it as a major negative force in a lot of people's lives.

News flash, those “friends” were lazy before the “pot”

Completely against pot personally. But it makes sense to legalize it

People of all walks of life, shapes and sizes smoke weed.. doctors, lawyers, ceo's..it's simply not frat boys eating Cheetos in mom's basement. This is the whole reefer madness stigma some people believe. You'd be surprised who is smoking weed.

I completely agree. I'm just stating that the lazy ones were like that before the cannabis
