No, No, No, my friend............I'm not in it for the value. We're actually on the same page here. I too have just "good 'ol" cards that I cherish that are priceless, like Jerry Rice & Montana rookies, Dan Marino rookie. Even guys like Eric Dickerson who isn't valued at very much, but just brings back memories of his just "striding" through defenders like a rabbit or something, kind of like he was walking on air above them all. He was so smooth! That's just an example. Ahhhhhh, some cards bring and keep the memories. BUT.......the same goes with cards today. Look at those cards above J~Man! Herschel Walker above.........What a great guy he was, and his accent, who can forget that! You're talking about an autograph of guys we have watched in our era, and with actual pieces of jersey used in an official game! I know it sounds "childish", but I know you know where I'm coming from.........Journeyman said:Hache - I disagree, you see , your in it for the value of the card it seems....
I was in it for the keepsake, not any monetary reason, thats why the cards today will never go up in comparison....Like everything else Hache , sports was better 25 years ago, it was a more humble time, when dollar $igns werent everything....
I could care less about an autograph or a supposed game jersey, thats all hype...then again I could care less about any modern athlete, because they sure as hell only care about themselves , this is not 1975.
