I skimmed through all this but couldn't read 4 pages of back and forth, so forgive me if there's redundant opinion.

NFL has had a problem for awhile, imo...and yes, the ratings are lower this year across the board than years past. A lot of it probably is to this being an election year. Ratings for news channels are up across the board, so only makes sense that viewership for other programs would be done.

I don't think Kaep is the primary reason, but I'm sure it's not zero percent either. I would think/hope some of it is just people getting fed up with a shit product. Defense has been eliminated, celebrations have been all but been eliminated, and penalties and commercials dominate the airtime.

NFL controversies surrounding charging armed services for the staged presentations and making everyone where pink and then only a small portion going to the charity hasn't helped PR at all. And the biggie may be concussions. Perhaps the fams aren't all sitting together watching the games b/c Mom doesn't want Johnny drooling on himself when he's 55.

There's a lot of things, but I think this downward trend will be tough to overturn. NFL has had 20 years plus a few on top. America's been oversaturated and the attention span is gone. If I didn't gamble, not sure how much I would watch.

That whole wearing pink thing is a joke. They thought all these NFL players were being so supportive of breast cancer awareness agreeing to wear pink but it had everything to do with the color pink being associated with thug life. Of course they didn't go to charities, they were never doing it for that in the first place.

Defying and CHOPTALK killed the offshore.....No more political threads because of those 2 cry babies.

The energy and traffic is gone.

That`s horrible considering we have a election in 3 weeks.

Monday night’s New York Jets-Arizona Cardinals game drew a 6.2 overnight rating that was down 35% from a New York Giants-Philadelphia Eagles Monday nighter the previous year

Could some of this over-saturation be the fault of fantasy football? It changes how people view games, if at all. Instead of rooting for teams, you root for individual players, sometimes going against each other, but mostly not. Your team consists of multiple simultaneous games being played. Instead of watching any one game, perhaps they are stuck to a mobile app watching stat updates?

25 flags ruined that game, even people in attendance were bored

Roger thinks people want to watch the officials, as rules get more and more suffocating

This is a great catch. Real possibly guys who'd have previously tuned in now just do the mobile-app stat checking. Totally a potentially large contributor, IMO.

35% is Huge. Obviously multiple things contributing. Flags must be one. Crazy how Roger doesn't reign this in, impossible that he is so dumb that he can't see Flags are dampening guy's enthusiasm for tuning in.

‘Sunday Night Football’ Ratings Fall To 5-Year Low

:):)

No wonder why you ran from this thread. I've never seen someone be more wrong about things than you are. Yet bizarrely, you keep coming back to this forum.

The Guesser has never been right about a single thing in his miserable life!

Poll: National Anthem Protests Leading Cause For NFL Ratings Drop

A fresh poll from Seton Hall surveyed 841 adults across the U.S. Each respondent was asked to identify seven separate factors as a reason for the NFL ratings drop, allowing them to answer “yes” or “no” for each of them. The leading factor, according to the poll, was the national anthem protests, which scored “yes” at a rate of 56 percent.

Ratings are down because people are cutting cable (not all place get good reception for local channels) and I don't think NFL red zone counts towards viewership. There's also just general increase in competition with other media platforms. Not one major competitor but I would say so much variety such that the sum is significant

Evans made clear after the game that he was specifically protesting Trump, and would continue to kneel “as long as he’s the president-elect.”

Is this another half White guy?

Cuz getting down on your KNEES says...

some thing?
That is Helpful? Contributes to a Dialogue?

I'm starting to suspect that being of Half Black and Half White Blood might make one more prone to being an Attention Whore?

Mike Evans goes a game or two without dropping 3-4 balls, and he suddenly thinks the entire presidential election should be reversed because he says so.

Man oh Man what can you say about morons like this...

My Feeling, at this point is "we", meaning mostly Media, needs to just ignore them now.

and going forward

cuz seems to me its like that crying baby. You come running every time (s)he cries and they get conditioned that to cry = those people who, you're not sure who they are but you want them to show up......come running.

Which only encourages that Baby to Cry More.
