Who knows what the Nevada game will bring, but I have to go the F'n DMV tomorrow morning to get a new picture for my license...5 years older and 20 lbs heavier. Ain't life grand?

Anyway, I'll be back w/ a recap later but for now let's toss out the Armed Forces Bowl pick;

Houston (-3)

The line is actually -3/5 so we bought the point, make note that this will be 120 to win 100...

Enjoy the night...have fun...Shakes

Happy last day of 2008 everyone...it was a great year...

Last night's action dropped the record below 50%. We have never been below 50%. Only one way to go and that is forward...Here's the recap:

Nevada L (-110)
Rice W (+100)
Ok State (-110)

Total ATS: 8-9 (-190)

Side Bets: 7-1 (Orange rolled over Seton Hall)

If it wasn't for my own side bets, I would be shit out of luck. That said, the Rounda Table has shit the bed this bowl season, but with a total of 13 games over the next (wondeful) 72 hours, we will be on the plus side...I personally expect good things as these are the games that people really know about.

Here's the picks for today:

Houston (-3) 120/100 (bought the 1/2 point, make sure you do this)
Pitt (+1)
Boston College (-3) (yep, we got it -3, if you don't but the 1/2 pt)
Kansas (-7.5)
Georgia Tech (-4)

The GA Tech play is one of the strongest of the season. Personally, i will add an extra hunny for this pick.

As for side bets today, again, with all due respect to Ace-Ace/Sami Farha/theJackal, the reasearch that they did indicates the the play on the BC-Vandy game will be under the total of 41. These plays have been strong throughout the season, and will get an extra platy from me as well.

Anyway, we look forward to your feedback. Whatever you do tonight, make sure you do it well, and be safe. Happy New Year!

Nice shakes, I did think Kentucky at first, but without their star player on board, will side with ECU on this one.

RECAP for the last couple of days:

We went 2-3 back on Dec 31st and the record dropped to:

10-12 (-320)

Then we brought in the New Year with a stellar 4-1 to raise the record to:

ATS: 14-13 (-30)

No side bets on 12/31 but we had one thanks to Ace's crew and that brought the record out to:

Side Bets: 8-1

Now, based on the ATS plays, we are barely over 50% and one the negative side money-wise. Still, the side bets have been very strong and that puts on the pluse side pretty well. To go over today's plays again:

Texas Tech (-4)
East Carolina (-3)
Alabama (-9)

I will go ahead and let you know that we like Buffalo (+6.5) on Saturday as well. It looks as if the line may shift to +7 so keep an eye on this one.

I don't see any side bets today, but will post my NFL plays between today and 12 noon tomorrow...so check here for the picks and/or link to the NFL thread on the same sight.

Anyway, let's make some money...'09 is off to a super start...Shakes

Wow!!! I am surprised, I thought the Uconn vs. Buffalo would be the easiest pick. Uconn by at least 10

My argument would be the following.

1. Buffalo gives up about 400+ yards per game. Buffalo has a poor run defense, like 83rd in the nation.

2. Uconn is a strong running team with one of the best rushers in the nation in Donald Brown.

Buffalo 45th in offense 95th in defense
Uconn 66th in offense 10TH in defense

Uconn allows 19.8pts per game
Buffalo allows 31.0 pts per game.

Uconn has been on a slide as of late and yes Turner Gill is a great coach. Buffalo has never been in a bowl. Uconn 3 bowls not that this stat truly matters, but the main stat would be

best opponents to get these stats. Uconn beat Cincinnati, Virginia, Louisville

Buffalo beat Ball St., Bowling Green, Mia (OH)

Opponents in MAC personally are weaker than the Big East. If the defensive stats are better in the Big East than the MAC, that to me is a big deal. Also, defensive stats are not a guarantee, but they to me mean more than selecting a winner.

Hope this will help.

BTW, I would like to know why the round table selected Buffalo?

Thanks,

See this is what I argued for...the guys that picked Buffalo simply made the arguement that this Buffalo team has more to play for. Intangibles like the first bowl game in school history (they were invited back in 1958 but didn't go b/c of a racial issue) were the main reason. That type of motivation is very hard to put into the statistics that I, and from the looks of it, you, use to make the decision...In the end, I was blowing smoke. I guess the whole "we are from Philly and need something to believe in" angle won out this time...what can I say? I'ma pushover and thus my decison was made for me. (Plus, they have been a cash cow for me all year...)

Where is Leonard, WA.?..I did a Google search and couldn't find it...how little is your town...beautiful country btw...been out in WA twice, not Seattle either...drove cross country twice...love it out there...

Warminster, PA is about 15-20 miles away from Philly...not missing much here...

The Round Table is retired for the year as we shit the bed again and went 0-3 which brings are total to the year for:

14-16 (-360)

The rest of the bowl picks for the year are:

Texas (-8)
Tulas (-1)
Florida (-3) But the 1/2 point

The guys are done for the year but I am not. They are cutting their losses as this has been our worst year ever. With the expected Buffalo loss, we have to go 3-0 to finish 50% bust still under the total in the money.

I have chosen to forge on and will keep posting my personal plays until the season ends...my NCAA play for tomorrow is:

Texas (-8)

I like them to roll over Ohio St pretty big...

My NFL Plays will be:

Atlanta (+1)
Indianapolis (Pk)

I will create a new thread in the NFL Forum throughout the playoffs...

Enjoy the weekend...Shakes
