Vancouver -130 over PHOENIX 25 Dimes
The Canucks are red hot no matter where they play. This includes an 11-4 run on the road!! Meanwhile, the Coyotes are a pedestrian 10-9 at their home arena. You are getting a huge value (-130) on a team that scores by the bunches vs. a team that gives up a plethora of shots on goal. Vancouver has the statistical advantage in every measurable category and they stroll in, fresh off of a 4-1 road win over Dallas. I love the Canucks in this matchup and expect them to take care of business tonight at Phoenix!
Los Angeles -145 over EDMONTON 10 Dimes
Any time you can get a Western team at under -150 against Edmonton, you take it. Edmonton is absolutely hopeless this season. (7-13 at home) The Kings were shut out in their first action since the break and will probably be out for blood. The Kings defense should have no problem containing the Oiler Forwards, cutting down their SOG and limiting their scoring opportunities. The Kings, on the other hand, probably won't need many opportunities, as Oiler goaltending has been atrocious. Look for the Kings to win this one easily. I wouldn't even watch this one.
NCAA:
Minnesota -3 over INDIANA 15 Dimes
The Hoosiers have been a bad team all year on the road... OK, their failures have been epic! I have watched Indiana just get dominated night after night, and yet they have pulled off this brilliant 11-2 home record. (All 11 of their wins have come at home). My opinion is that this team is not very good and eventually (meaning today), that is going to translate at home, away, on the moon or wherever they play. Indiana is probably reeling, both from the huge OT loss to State and from the injury hampering their best scorer. Indiana's strength is defending the perimeter, however I think their shortcomings in the paint are evident. Lucky for the Gophers, their strength is in the paint. Trevor Mbakwe should have a field day, cleaning up the glass and producing second chance scoring opportunities. I think this turns out to be a bad matchup for Indiana, despite their prior success at home. Minnesota enters as the better team with perfect timing.
NC-GREENSBORO +2.5 over Appalachian St. 15 Dimes
This NCG team can't get any respect since they dropped their first 15 games of the season, to the point where they can't even lay chalk at home against an AppSt. team that has dropped 6 out of their last 7 (including the one point loss to guess who at App St.) 2.5 is a good value for a Spartans team that has played good basketball of late. Most will look at the overall records. I will not. Take the Spartans at home.
