John Keelen(abats computer simulator) - dodgers -1.5

randy wood(pingpongfool) - Cleveland Indians at Minnesota Twins Total Runs UNDER 5 -115 for 1st 5 Innings A Laffey - N Blackburn - must start for action
How many times have you noticed that when a SP is pulled early in the game like in the 3rd inning because of an "off" day, he bounces back in his next start with a very solid performance? Well that is what we have today with Laffey and Blackburn. Laffey was pulled after 3.1 IP and tagged for 6 ER and Blackburn was tagged for 6 ER also in only 3 innings of work.
Look for both pitchers to be focused and downright embarrassed about the last time they were on the mound. What that means for you and me is a nice spot for an under. I am not going under for the whole game because frankly, I don't trust the bullpens. But I am willing to invest 2 units here that we will go under 5 in the 1st 5 innings. BOL today!

Matt Dennehy(lillefty) -
1* Angels-115 over the Red Sox
I only like 1 play on todays card so I will not force anything more than that. Of course there are many winners out there but the price you have to pay for some of these bets just aren't worth what you have to lay.

yesterday the Bonus Play run went up to 10-4-1 for sept as KC jumped on detroit early and coasted to an 11-1 win. It was at a nice price of +150-+155 depending on your book.
Saunders is 4-0 since coming off the DL and has owned the sox in his career. The angels are 6-2 in his last 8 starts vs the sox. Paul Byrd is crafty and that works great vs impatient hitters but this is an extremely patient angel team that will get their pitch to hit and get it often.

Trace Adams 1000* - Cincinnati w/Lehr over Bazardo, 500* - Seattle w/Rowland-Smith over Floyd The Reds are rolling once again, taking their last pair of games, and 3 of their last 4 overall.

Houston's losing streak has hit 3 in a row, and the Astros are just 2-6 at Cincy this season, and 3-9 overall against the Reds in this season series.

I am backing Cincy as the home favorite in this spot, as Justin Lehr is at least 2-0 at home in 3 call-up starts, and has kept the ERA respectable at 3.46.

His counterpart Yorman Bazardo is fresh off a road outing that lasted just 2 innings, and saw 8 runs score.

Houston has gone just 6-21 their last 27 on the road.

Cincy to continue their domination of Houston with the 3 game sweep tonight.

1000♦ - Cincinnati w/Lehr over Bazardo

♦♦♦NOTE: Both listed pitchers must start, or no action on the release!♦♦♦

Late night action, and it will be the Mariners to once again hit Gavin Floyd of the White Sox.

Chicago did win last night, but are still just 4-9 their last 13 played at Safeco Field, and starter Gavin Floyd has struggled of late against the M's.

Floyd is 0-1 in 2 starts this season against Seattle, and just 1-3 his last 5 starts against the Mariners, allowing 23 runs in 26 innings of work.

Ryan Rowland-Smith is usually good for 7 or 8 innings of 2 or 3 run ball, and if he can do that tonight, that will be good enough for the win.

Take the M's in this one.

500♦ - Seattle w/Rowland-Smith over Floyd

Cleveland/Minnesota Over will be it for early games. Cards was nearly a play but reluctant to bet against Floriday start Johnson, plus, St. Louis sputtering a bit lately.
Still considering some games. Final report 5:30p ET, in not earlier.

4 Unit Play. #905. Take the Arizona Diamondbacks +105 over the San Diego Padres (Wed @ 3:35pm est). The Arizona Diamondbacks have one of their trusted arms on the mound today. Doug got shelled in his last start for five runs, 11 hits in just 3 innings against the Milwaukee Brewers. Besides that start, Davis has been good for 8 of 10 quality starts and I expect him to bounce-back today. Mujica is a good looking reliever turned into a starter, but I believe he will likely struggle against Arizona. Plus, San Diego will have to get into their bullpen earlier than expected which favors Arizona as I don't expect Mujica to go past five innings today. The Dbacks are 7-0 of late with the total set at this range, I like Davis off a loss as he is on a bounce-back and the Diamondbacks have defeated the Padres the last five times they have played them (Davis is 4-1 against the Padres in his last five starts as well).

Good luck,

IC

MLB Game Of The Week - Wednesday

Matchup: Angels at Red Sox
Pitchers: Saunders vs. Byrd
Time: 7:10pm ET
Pick: 3* ANGELS (ML, +100)

Analysis: The Angels take on the Red Son in Game Two of this important three-game series when Joe Saunders matches serves with Paul Byrd at Fenway Park in Beantown. Saunders enters tonight's game with wins in 11 of his last 14 team starts as well as 14 of his last 20 road team starts (4-0 last four). He's also 7-1 in his career team starts against the Red Sox, including 4-0 at Fenway. With journeyman Byrd just 1-3 with a 6.30 ERA in his last four starts against the Halos, look for Saunders to improve to 8-0 in his career team starts in September tonight. We recommend a 3-unit play on the Angels with Saunders versus Byrd.

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 7:10 p.m. est.

Los Angeles Angels (86-58) at Boston Red Sox (85-58)
(L) Joe Saunders (13-7) vs. (R) Paul Byrd (1-1)

Los Angeles' Joe Saunders (13-7, 4.81) is 3-0 with a 1.40 ERA in his last three starts. The Angels have won seven of the left-hander's last eight starts versus Red Sox, 4-0 in his last 4 in Beantown.
Boston's Paul Byrd (1-1, 6.08 ERA) is 1-1 with a 6.08 ERA in his last three starts. The right-hander is 4-2 with a 4.94 ERA in nine career outings against the Angels. Boston has won eight of Byrd's last ten starts, 4-1 in his last 5 at home.
Boston plays strong at home. The Red Sox have won nine straight at Fenway Parke, 51-21 this season. However, the Angels have been a tough opponent for the Red Sox. Los Angeles has won 12 of its last 15 regular season games against them and six of the last eight contests in Boston. In addition, Red Sox’s southpaw Joe Saunders is 3-0 with a 2.75 ERA in his last three starts in Beantown. Go with the Angels with Saunders at the helm in a close fight.

3-Unit Play Take #906 San Diego Padres -105 over Arizona Diamondbacks (3:35p.m.)

The Padres were beating up on the big boys, but along come the lowly DBacks and two straight loses. San Diego sends out Ed Mujica once again. In his first career start after a career in the bullpen, he looked very good. He allowed two hits in four shutout innings.

Arizona’s Doug Davis has not won in his last six starts. Padres avoid the sweep..

3-Unit Play Take # 913 Milwaukee Brewers +155 over Chicago Cubs (8:05p.m.)

The Brew Crew has suffered embarrassment at the hands of the Cubs in this series. If they are going to win a game in this 4-game set, it has to be this one. Braden Looper

(12-6, 4.77) is a battler who gives you 100%.

3-Unit Play Take #916 San Francisco Giants -135 over Colorado Rockies (10:15p.m.)

This is the most important game of the Giants season. The Giants have won three of Matt Cain’s four starts against Colorado this year. Once again I’m going to stay up late and hopefully enjoy this one.
