The winningest sports handicapper on the large network of websites, Matt Rivers is now exclusively on OffshoreInsiders. Tonight he has a pick on Northwestern plus the points. They are getting 12 at Minnesota. Your local guy hopes you say TLDNR to this:
I have backed the Wildcats on numerous occasions this season and many more times than not they have treated me right so I’m going stay on this gravy train today.
Tubby Smith certainly has a dangerous Minnesota team but to be honest with you they have been fairly underachieving. The Golden Gophers were pretty much everybody’s sleeper type team in the Big 10 but at 3-4 in-conference and 12-7 overall things have not been all that great.
UM just blew the huge home lead against MichiganState and will once again be without their point guard in Al Nolen and it doesn’t appear that star recruit Royce White will be on the court anytime soon. The Gophers have major issues and have also actually lost three in a row and four of five including being a similar favorite, as today, in Indiana and falling in overtime to the Hoosiers, 81-78.
At home I can see Minnesota man up and play one of their better games here but it’s not like Northwestern is the Northwestern of old. Bill Carmody has his team looking as if they want to make the Big Dance for the first time ever at 14-5 overall with some top notch wins including beating Notre Dame, Michigan on the road, Illinois, Purdue, Stanford, NC State and Iowa State.
Guys like John Shurna, Jeremy Nash and Michael Thompson have really stepped it up in a major way and the Wildcats right now are actually a good basketball team, believe it or not. This is all without the service of stud Kevin Coble as well who has not played a game.
This is another rough spot for Northwestern on the road, I admit that, and they did fail that last test in OhioState but 10 or so points is too much here and that is the bottom line.
OffshoreInsiders Matt Rivers pick: Northwestern +12

The Center of the Handicapping Universe says take Milwaukee +7 versus Dallas.
The analysis: This is a dichotomous ATS and straight up game. We discount 98 percent of trends, but this has proven to be the exception to the rule. If a team has a great SU record but horrid ATS record or visa versa, we bet for that to continue as it is the sign of which teams are most under or overvalued.
Our research and experience has validated the theory this isolates teams that sneak under the radar.
Dallas has a much better home straight up record than Milwaukee does on the road, yet the Bucks are much better against the spread. Dallas is 13-7 straight up at home, but 5-15 to the number. Milwaukee is 5-17 straight up on the road, yet 12-10 where it counts.
OffshoreInsiders GodsTips pick: Milwaukee
In fact, Dallas is 9-19 their last 28 against the spread overall despite a 29-15 straight up mark.
Now the future of sports betting is forensic sports handicapping founder Stevie Vincent. He has a Level winner on KansasState over Baylor. They are getting two-points.
Forensic ATS information on this game: Baylor 0-10 home versus opponent shoots more than 45 percent but allows less than 42 percent shooting, 0-6 home favorites of three or less, Kansas State 8-2 against teams with a winning record, 8-1 after two straight games where opponent was called for 22 or less fouls per game, 8-2 overall.
