The gloomy Orioles have dropped 22 of their last 30 games and are a pitiable road team, just 18-39 this season. Go with the Rays at Tropicana Field. Tampa Bay has taken 23 in the last 31 meetings against Baltimore, eight of the last nine in Tampa Bay. Rays’ starter lefthander David Price is 5-1 with a 2.72 ERA in his last seven starts and Tampa Bay has won his last four starts at home.

We had 4 units on the Rangers yesterday and they came out on top to make us 5-2 since Friday and up 10.77 units for an ROI of 37.2%. We have one play today.

Boston Red Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays

Pick: Under 8 (3 units)

There is a lot of value in playing the UNDER in this one. Josh Beckett (14-4, 3.10) is starting for the Red Sox and he is on fire as of late with an ERA of 0.86 in his last 3 starts. The Jays counter with lefty Ricky Romero (10-5, 3.55). Fortunately for Toronto, the Red Sox have struggled versus lefties as of late, averaging 0.196 in their last 10. Additionally, there are several trends favoring the UNDER. UNDER is 6-1 in Boston’s last 7 road contests with the total set at 7 to 8.5, 5-1 in their last 6 road games versus a left handed starter and 5-1 in their last 6 road games versus a team with a winning home record. UNDER is 6-1-1 in Toronto’s last 8 as an underdog and 8-2-1 in Toronto’s last 11 home games with the total set at 7 to 8.5. UNDER is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings.

Lay 3 units on the UNDER.

LAA Angels vs. Cleveland Indians
Play: Cleveland Indians

The Indians have waited a longtime for Fausto Carmona to pitch the way he did in '07, when he won 19 games. He has battled through injuries, rebuilding arm strength, and appears to be back where he was. Carmona has pitched to a 2.65 ERA in his last three starts, not allowing more than two runs in any of the three games. It is the first time he has done so since last May. The Angels are down to Trevor Bell for this one, and he did not impress in his debut vs. the Rays where he allowed four runs in 5.1 innings and served up two long balls. The Indians have relished the role of a favorite where they are 4-0 in their last four, and against a pitcher with a WHIP of 1.30 or higher, the Indians have cashed six of their last seven.

KELSO HIGHROLLERS MLB PICK for TODAY

Highrollers Baseball

Tuesday, August 18, 2009
15 UnitsRangers {} (-160) over Twins {}
8:05 PM -- Rangers Ballpark in Arlington
TEXAS RANGERS (67-50) -160 over Minnesota Twins (56-62) Pitching for Texas: RH Scott Feldman (12-4, 3.90) Pitching for Minnesota: RH Carl Pavano (10-9, 5.16) Rangers Trend Profile: Last 10: 7-3, Streak: Won 3, Home Record: 40-22, Against RHP: 42-32. Twins Trend Profile: Last 10: 3-7, Streak: Lost 3, Road Record: 23-35, Against RHP: 38-38. Starting Time: 8:05 TV: Fox Sports North, Fox Sports Southwest Comments: Texas heads the American League race for the wild-card spot in the playoffs and is another team playing its best baseball right now. The Rangers come into this game going for their fourth straight win and stand 5-1 in their last six outings. On the mound for Texas will be Scott Feldman who stands 3-0 with an E.R.A. of 3.32 in his last three starts and 7-2 with an E.R.A. of 3.75 in his last 10 starts. Of Equal importance is the fact the team magic is there, illustrated by the fact Texas is 8-2 in his those last 10 starts. Minnesota starter Carl Pavano has pitched well in his two starts since being acquired from Cleveland but my money says he is going to have his troubles against the big bats of Texas, including that of Josh Hamilton who in his last seven games is hitting .536, with five doubles, five runs scored and seven runs battled in that time frame.
Partly cloudy. Winds blowing in from center field at 5-15 m.p.h. Game-time temperature: Around 95.
