St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs (+135, N/A)
The first series between the Cardinals and Cubs of 2011 has been a weird one.
To begin with, this is the first time former-Cub Ryan Theriot is back at Wrigley wearing enemy colors, but that was just the beginning of it.
Then there was the sight of Cubs GM hugging Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols not once, but twice while the two teams were hanging around the batting cage on Tuesday. Cubs and Cardinals just don’t get down like that and the scene sent conspiracy theorists in action, wondering if Chicago would make a play for the pending free agent.
Later the same day, news came down that St. Louis manager Tony LaRussa would leave the team and may be away for a while after being diagnosed with shingles. Then on Wednesday, the Cubs lost starting catcher Geovany Soto to the 15-day DL with a groin injury.
The madness wraps up with a Thursday matinee and after a tough start, we like how Cubs youngster Casey Coleman is throwing the ball lately. Chicago’s worth a look at this price.
