712 Kent St. Golden Flashes Pk

4-Units (6:00 P.M. CST)

Ok, let's get the obvious behind us. Kent St. has lost 3 straight games. Whew...now that I said it, let's take a look at those last 3 games. They were losses to Kansas(60-87), Texas A&M(71-77), and Illinois(63-69). They were in it till the final few minutes in both the Texas A&M and Illinois games, and were obviously overpowered against Kansas. Pretty good competition if you ask me.

Senior Guard Ali Fisher leads the way for the Golden Flashes. He is averaging 19 points and 3.3 assists per game. He was the MAC Player of the Year last season, and is on a pace to get it a second year in a row. The Golden Flashes have been getting excellent play from the guard position resulting in just 11 turnovers per game. As a team they are shooting 47% from the field, while holding opponents to 34% from the field in their home games.

St. Mary's comes in with a 5-1 record, but have yet to play a true road game this season. They played their first 3 games at home, before playing on a neutral court in the 76 Classic this past weekend. The Gaels are led by Sophomore Guard Patrick Mills who is averaging 20 points and 4.2 assists per game. These two schools met back in February, with Kent St. taking a road win over the Gaels by a 65-57 score. This one is just too easy to pass up, especially with Kent St. nearly even and at home.

Take the Kent St. Golden Flashes at a Pk for 4-Units!

Trends worth considering:

Gaels are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Gaels are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games.

Gaels are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Thursday games.

Golden Flashes are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games.

Golden Flashes are 17-4 ATS in their last 21 Thursday games.

Golden Flashes are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

Thanks and Good Luck

1500* - Rutgers, 500* - San Diego Chargers, 500* - Oklahoma Sooners
The mix of Steve Kragthorpe, and Louisville has been as compatible as oil-and-water, as Louisville comes into North Jersey mired in a 4-game skid both straight up, and against the spread. It hasn't helped that the 'Ville sports 14, count 'em 14 turnovers in those last 4 games!!!!

Even with double-digits, I am not going with the Cardinals who need a win to become bowl-eligible, as things are going too well right now for Greg Schiano's team.

Rutgers has turned around a 1-5 start with 5 straight wins, and 4 straight covers, and this is the final home game of senior QB Mike Teel's career in New Brunswick. Teel has been bombing away during the Scarlet Knights surge, as the kid has tossed 13 TD passes in his last 4 games. Couple that with the fact the Knights defense has stepped up, allowing 17 points or less in 5 of their last 6 games, and this one has "blowout" written all over it!

Louisville won last season's meeting, 41-38 as the 2 1/2-point favorite in Kentucky, tonight's game seems like a million years removed from last year's battle.

All Rutgers, all night!

KINDERGARTEN CAPPER Cooling off a bit

6-8 last night and let's see if we can win some tonight. Wouldn't tail tonight(unless you see something you like)...just a head's up. Trying a couple things out with the pace of play and Offense Efficiency. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

Citadel +8
Played the same Cenar. team. Citadel lost by 5, Greensboro 15. Greensboro is shooting less than 40% FG,less than 30% 3PT, and 56% FT. They also have one DD scorer.

St. Mary's vs Kent St. over 137
See both teams putting up 70. Both teams have effective offenses and St. Mary's pace of play is around 74 possessions a game. You won't see that many tonight, but they will try to push it.

USC vs Oklahoma over 137
Oklahoma's D is nothing too special. They give up 68 ppg. If we can get 68 out of USC and an 8 point cover 76-68 and the total flys over.

Valpo vs. Youngstown St. under 127
Youngstown St. is in the 230's in offense and Valpo in the early 300's. The pace should be slow, the offense bad, and both teams shoot under 65% FT.

Butler vs Clev. State under 121.5
Three meetings last year=125,97,98. Butler will take the air out of the ball. Both teams avg. under 65 a game and their D's allow under 60. ESPNU game and Butler should struggle(like the 58 they put on Drake) again on the road.

59 BOSTON -150 7:35 EST

Boston 16-4-4 at Tampa Bay 6-8-10 St. Pete's Times Forum How can this game be only -150? If Detroit it would be -225 and Boston is better than Detroit right now. Bruins 11-1-1 51 goals for 24 against in November, if it weren't for San Jose they would be headlines in every newspaper, just beat the mighty Wings 4-1. Tampa on the other hand is 1-6-4 last 11 games. Bruins top line of M. Savard, P. Kessel, and M. Lucic as good as they come, Tim Thomas has been amazing in net and should be back tonight along with F M.Sturm. Boston -150 for a rare 8 unit play

I like the Under in this one. Both teams have gone Under in 7 of their last 8 games. Oakland has a hard time putting up points unless playing poor NFL defenses that also struggle vs the run. I don't see that being the problem for San Diego's D playing at home. They have trouble with passing teams and have been far more respectable vs the run. On the other side, Oakland's team strength is their pass D, rarely giving up more than 200 yards. I expect San Diego to run it down Oakland's throats and not be pushed by Oakland's offense to match scoring. The Charger run game has been off all season but given the matchup they should do fine but not totally overwhelming. This all comes down to the Chargers being smart enough to attack on the ground, the time coming off the clock faster as a result, and the Raiders not having enough offense on the road to respond. Also keep in mind 41 is a very important number when betting totals. Play Under 41.5 for a 3* play.

Oakland Raiders (POD) +10

61% in College Basketball 2008-2009.
Yesterday: 2-1
*Charlotte/OKC Over (POD): Winner.
*Toledo Outright over UMASS: Winner.
*Middle Tennessee State +5.5: Loss.
2-0 on comp selections as well Celtics -14.5 and Clippers +11.

The line has gone both ways since the opening, Oakland opened up as a +9 point dog and it has gone down in some books to +8.5 and up in some books to +9.5 and even 10. The total has gone down roughly 0.5 points to 42.5 in most books. San Diego comes off losing to my Falcons at home, they beat this team 28-18 on the road earlier this year so Oakland does have revenge, the public favors the Chargers to a tune of 60% here, but Oakland has played well of late. Yes, I know they lost to the Chiefs at home, but many saw that coming given how much the Chiefs have improved over the last few weeks in covering games, and heck, Oakland beat Denver on the road outright by 3 touchdowns, lost 15-17 to the Dolphins and Russell has now thrown for more than 1700 yards. We keep waiting for San Diego to show up, but this team is 1-5 of their last 6. You want to know something intersting? When San Diego wins, they cover. When San Diego does not cover, they lose the game outright - they have done that at least the last 10 games. I think Oakland can hang tough here as San Diego just has not been overly impressive of late. Look, the bottom line is this, Oakland has revenge, they have been playing better, they come off a tough loss to the Chiefs at home, had covered back to back dog lines on the road of 10 against Denver (winning outright) and 9 at Miami, losing by 2, this game is on national television and San Diego hasn't overly impressed over the last 1.5 months as they are 1-5 ATS over their last 6. I'll take the points.

Kent State +2 or +1 over St. Mary's. Look the bottom line in this game is that Kent state is the more dynamic team in particular at home. I understand that SM is 4-1 but I promise you that winning percentage is going to come down. KS is the same team that lost to Kansas by 20 plus points and lost to TA&M by just a few points not to mention took Illinois to overtime. Heck this team beat St. louis ok the road and Nc Wilmington while SM could barely get passed scrub teams and not to mention lost outright to UTEP as 9 point chalk at home. Let's take the team with the better Nin conference coming off a tough road trip with the far more dynamic offense to pound this SM team outright and in fact by DD here.
