San Francisco 49ers (-3) at Kansas City Chiefs – Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET
Kansas City (2-0, 2-0 ATS) has surprised just about everybody by starting 2-0. The Chiefs won ugly last week, topping the Browns 16-14. The offense is playing miserable, though, as Matt Cassel and Co. failed to reach the end zone—K.C. got its only touchdown on an interception return from Brandon Flowers.
San Francisco (0-2, 1-1 ATS) is at the opposite end of the spectrum by losing its first two games. The Niners actually looked pretty solid in last week’s loss to the Saints. If it hadn’t been for four turnovers—including three inside New Orleans’ 30-yard line—San Francisco probably would have knocked off the defending champs and evened its record at .500.
Despite the two losses, the 49ers have been quite sharp on defense in 2010 says Brian Kayma of Lines-Maker.com. They’ll have no problems shutting down a listless Chiefs offense. Throw in a fantastic performance by Frank Gore last week (168 total yards, two scores) and you have a recipe for success. San Fran will win and cover.
