Against the spread Selections: Last week 3-0 Season Record- 6-0 Minnesota Vikings +7 – I see Carolina`s 12 game home winning streak in jeopardy here. The Panthers are just 2-10 ATS in their 2nd of back to back home games and 0-4 ATS the week before Atlanta the past 2 years. Not having Jonathan Stewart could also hurt them in this match up. The Vikings on the other hand under coach Zimmer are 9-1 ATS the last 10 times they have been an underdog. Zimmer is also 10-1 ATS after a division game. Forget about the injuries Sam Bradford looked pretty dam good last week and Jerrod Mckinnon and Matt Asiata are capable replacements for Adrian. The bottom line is Carolina has some holes in its Defensive secondary and Minnesota`s Defense is quickly becoming elite. They are young, fast, aggressive and most important can force turnovers. Cam doesn't like to be hit & pressured(See past 2 games VS. Denver) which Minnesota can do consistently. I also believe the police shooting in Carolina has served as a distraction for the home Panthers. A long time ago I learned the hard way, anytime you have a elite Defense getting points you take the points. I also believe the Vikings have an excellent chance to win this game put the Super Bowl losers in some real adversary. Los Angeles Rams +3.5 - Should Tampa Bay be favored by 5.5 points over anyone? Hell No! Maybe that`s why the line has dropped to 3.5. Its still a play for me. Tampa Bay has lost their last 3 Home Openers, Id say that goes to 4. They are also 5-13 ATS as home favorites. They are down top running back Doug Martin which could hurt them in short yardage situations in this match up. Also tight end Jenkins was arrested for DUI for the second time in 2 years on Friday morning at 5:17 am which could be a big distraction for them as well and released from the team later that day. So their Offense in down 2 starters.. Jeff Fisher not only has Seattle's number he also has Tampa Bays number. Dirk Koeter is 1-1 as a NFL coach. Jeff Fisher is 8-1 Lifetime against Tampa Bay alone including 4-0 as rams coach beating them once each of the last 4 years, 2X at home and 2X in Tampa, 3 of the 4 games decided by double digits. Forget that the rams havent scored a TD this year, they hung 28 points in the first 3 quarters on the bucs last year and Todd Gurley is ready to breakout and so are the Rams. Take the points. New York Giants -3 - The line has moved in our favor here as most think Washington will be the more desperate team, However the Giants and Eli seem to have Washington`s Number. Eli is 12-4 SU last 4 years, 3-0 ATS last 3 years at home vs. their division rival. Furthermore when you look deeper into this weeks match up you will find a Washington team that is playing with no chemistry right now vs. a Giants team playing with plenty of it. Eli will spread the ball all around and the Giants D should contain the Skins non running game and Kirk Cousins. Bottom line Give me Eli and the Giants to make a team they own misery even worse. The Giants are 5-1 ATS as HF before a MNF and 14-4 VS a division foe in a back to back home game. G-Men make amends for not covering last week and continue to roll. |
