Dave Cokin
Three sides, all mid-priced chalk, but that's what showed up. The Giants did as well, but there's a play against angle on Heston off his first career CG, so I just crossed that one out.
Cubs -130 (Burnett/Arrieta)
Looks like it could be an offensive showdown here with the weather. That doesn't favor either pitcher, so Arrieta still with the edge over Burnett, albeit fairly close. Offense has to favor red hot Cubs though, and obviously so does the current team form. Both bullpen key guys got rest yesterday. I made this -140, so it's not a blowout edge but with the hosts on the win streak, I think the Cubs are worth a chance here.
Nationals -126 (Strasburg/Kennedy)
Both pitchers having trouble, but at least a portion of Strasburg's issues are bad luck, especially in the BABIP department. Kennedy has been just plain terrible, and his velocity drop last start is concerning. No Myers and Alonso is having an impact on SD offense,. and the Nats are crushing everyone right now. Gotta lay it here with Washington.
Indians -128 (Carrasco/Martinez)
Big win for Cleveland yesterday, as they finally came back late to win one. Could be a mental boost for a team that can really use one. Substantial advantage for Carrasco over Martinez, whose regression appears to have gotten underway. Offensive edge to the road team, as the Tribe much better vs. righties than are the Rangers. Actually based on price, this is the best value on my board today as I made Cleveland -150, so relatively easy call on the Indians.
That's likely it along with the earlier play on the Clippers.
