The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

HOT LINES

Sunday's Best MLB Bets

St. Louis Cardinals at Atlanta Braves (-114, 7.5)

Atlanta starter Derek Lowe has a lot on his mind besides pitching. He was arrested Thursday night for DUI while allegedly racing another driver on Atlanta’s main thoroughfare, Peachtree Road. While he apologized to his team and the fans, the fallout is far from over.

Now the Braves are giving him his scheduled start in hopes they can avoid a sweep by the red-hot Cardinals, who have won four straight and eight of 10.

Lowe (2-3, 3.21 ERA) has pitched well this season in all but one outing, but he’s had no luck against St. Louis in his career. He’s 1-7 with a 6.85 ERA lifetime against the Cards.

St. Louis lefty Jaime Garcia (3-0, 2.08 ERA) has struck out 30 in 30 1/3 innings. And in his only start against Atlanta last year, he dominated, throwing seven scoreless innings, striking out five, walking one and allowing four hits.

The Cardinals are averaging 5.3 runs and boast MLB’s top hitter in Matt Holliday (.408).

PICK: Cardinals

Los Angeles Angels at Tampa Bay Rays (125, 7.5)

Angels starter Jered Weaver (6-0, 0.99) has a chance to become the first pitcher to go 7-0 through May 1 since Baltimore’s Sadie McMahon did it 120 years ago. Weaver has been that good, holding batters to a .163 average.

The Rays, meanwhile, recalled right-hander Alex Cobb from Triple-A Durham to start Sunday's game. Cobb is no slouch. A fourth-round pick in the 2006 draft, Cobb made steady progress through the farm system and excelled at every level.

In four starts in Triple-A, he allowed just five earned runs over 22 innings (2.05 ERA) while striking out a whopping 29 batters.

Umpire Alan Porter will call balls and strikes Sunday. The Under is 4-0 the last four times he’s been behind the plate.

PICK: Under

PICK 'N' ROLL

Sunday's Best NBA Bets

Memphis Grizzlies at Oklahoma City Thunder (-6.5, 196)

Beating the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs was no fluke. Memphis was simply the better team.

The Spurs’ two wins came by four points and in overtime. And the series should have been over in five games, but the Spurs miraculously sent it back to Memphis. The Grizzlies, meanwhile, won Game 4 by 18 points and trailed for only a matter of seconds in the series clincher on Friday.

“They hit us with all they had and got every win they needed to get,” Spurs’ forward Antonio McDyess told the Memphis Commercial Appeal. “Talent-wise, we’re the better team with the most experience, but after you see what they did to us, they looked like the No. 1 seed and we looked like the No. 8 seed.”

The Grizzlies probably looked like a No. 1 seed to Oklahoma City during the regular season, too. They played four times and Memphis went 3-1 (3-1 ATS). The Grizzlies have won two straight in the series, including a 105-101 overtime road victory on February 8.

The quick turnaround two days after the biggest win in franchise history is going to be tough for Memphis. And the Thunder is playing darn good basketball too.

But getting 6.5 points is too tempting to pass up.

PICK: Grizzlies

Boston Celtics at Miami Heat (-5.5, 181.5)

These two teams also met in second-round action last year, and Boston took care of Miami in five games. Obviously it ‘s a much different Heat squad this time around, but the Celtics still won three of four regular-season meetings (3-1 ATS).

If the first round of the playoffs is any indication, the Heat will be hard-pressed to turn the tide. They looked decent in a five-game series win over Philadelphia but were nowhere near as dominant as Boston. The Celtics swept a previously in-form Knicks team, including winning both road games by double digits.

Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra is sticking with veterans Mike Bibby and Zydrunas Ilgauskas in the starting lineup for Game 1 on Sunday despite their lackluster play in the opening round.

“No matter who’s on the floor, you’re going to have to do your job, especially on defense,” Ilgauskas told the Miami Herald. “[The Celtics] make you pull a lot of triggers and cover a lot of ground. They’re so good at moving, passing the ball; you cannot relax at any time.”

Miami may have enough to get the victory at home, but covering a 5.5-point spread against an evenly-matched and on-fire opponent is a lot to ask.

PICK: Celtics

ICE PICKS

Sunday's Best NHL Bets

Detroit Red Wings at San Jose Sharks (-128, 5.5)

Detroit came close in Friday’s series opener, but the visitors squandered a one-goal lead in the third period and lost in overtime. The Red Wings have now lost four in a row to San Jose after winning the season’s first meeting in November.

The common perception was that the tide would turn in the playoffs, as Detroit is third all-time with 11 Stanley Cups and San Jose has exactly zero. The Sharks are labeled as perennial playoff chokers, but they are playing and talking like it will be different this year.

“We've just got to take this series-by-series and game-by-game,” right winger Devin Setoguchi told the Ottawa Sun. “If you look ahead, it's not going to be good, but we believe in ourselves and believe in this group. Our coaches and our GM believe in us. That's all that really matters, what happens inside the room.”

It also matters what happens in goal, and netminder Antti Niemi had by far his best game of the postseason on Friday. Niemi allowed nothing after the first period and stopped 24 of 25 shots.

PICK: Sharks

Tampa Bay Lightning at Washington Capitals (-178, 5.5)

Fresh off its Game 7 win at Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay returned two days later and posted a 4-2 road win over Washington in Friday’s series opener.

However, it was not all good news for the Lightning as they suffered a pair of injuries. Defenseman Pavel Kubina took a hard hit in the second period and did not return, while left winger Simon Gagne did the same in the first period and made an early exit. Kubina is listed is questionable and Gagne is doubtful.

The Capitals know they can take care of Tampa Bay, because they have done just that in the past. Washington won four of the six encounters during the regular season, including three by blowout (6-3, 6-0, and 5-2).

For a while it looked like the Caps would notch another win Friday, as they held a 2-1 lead late in the second period. Then it all unraveled.

“That’s exactly how we expected them to play and we had a really good game plan,” right winger Eric Fehr told the Washington Post. “We had it going for a while and we kind of gave up on it. Things didn’t go well after that.”

Washington knows what it has to do, so look for the home team to get it back together in Game 2.

Hondo

Hondo lost two the hard way last night, with the Tigers getting nipped in the 13th and the Marlins coming down with a nasty case of Renteria in the 10th. That, boys and girls of HondoNation, put the deficit at a season-high 715 berenguers.

Today, Mr. Aitch is assuming Derek Lowe will be hung over after a big Saturday night in Atlanta, which makes the Cards the play of the day. Addi tionally, The Good Weaver surely warrants some backing against the Rays. Ten units apiece.
