The PERFECT 10 ?

No...not talking about Bo Derek.
We're 9-0 this week.
The smart thing to do is spend the day counting the money we've made this week.
And we would if our record was.... say...12-3 rather than 9-0.
After all...the bottom line is ...we're in this to make money.
But when you're 9-0...ya just gotta go for the Prefect 10, right ?
Even tho we love the game tonight,we're just going to make it a regular 4**** play.
This way, if it dumps, it's still a great week and we're still up big .

4**** PORTLAND -8 vs Toronto

TOR...1-8 SU in last 9
......last 5 opponents have scored 124-113-109-116-119
......3-12 ATS in 2nd of BACK TO BACK's this yr.
PORT..8-2 SU in last 10....6-1 in last 7
......9-4 ATS vs poor defensive teams that allow 99+ pts
......a healthy Brandon Roy averaging 24 ppg this month...coincides with the Blazers current run.

I was originally looking to the "over" because of the points being scored against TOR... But then I noticed the defensive efforts that the Blazers have had in recent home games....holding SAC to 81 and IND to 79.
My current Power Ratings have Portland winning this by 17.
TOR right now reminds me of the Bulls.
Looks like they've thrown in the towel.
TOR even lost 124-112 to a sorry G.ST team last night...while PORT rested.
The Blazers have 4 days off after tonights game, so they won't have a need to conserve energy.

I look for a 108-90 type Final Score.

Sunday's Lineup

40 Dime – OHIO STATE

20 Dime – TEMPLE

OHIO STATE --- General consensus is that Minnesota is the hottest team in the Big 10 right now having just gone through Michigan State and Purdue to get to this game... but just think about how monumental it would be to go through those two (the 3- and the 2-seed) and then beat out the #1 seed to earn an automatic berth into the Big Dance. The thing is... I don't think the Gophers have to do anything else to make their case any stronger as I believe with those wins over MSU and Purdue, the tournament committee has placed them squarely IN the tourney.

Ohio State, on the other hand, has had two close wins over lesser Michigan and Illinois and needed double overtime yesterday just to make it to today. So you can see how the general consensus is to back Minnesota here as they appear to be the better, hotter team. But I say... Ohio State is more battle-tested after two close wins while Minnesota was really only challenged in the Michigan State game. Plus, let's not forget the Gophers will be playing their fourth consecutive game in as many days and fatigue might play a factor in the second half.

Ohio State and Minnesota split their season series, each winning at home, but Minnesota's win over the Buckeyes came when Evan Turner was just returning from his broken back and wasn't completely 100%. When Turner was back to full strength and the Gophers visited Columbus, the Buckeyes ran them out of the gym by 22 points... and the game really wasn't even that close. The favorite is 8-0 ATS in the last 8 meetings between these two and I believe Ohio State is still playing for a #1 seed in the tournament if Duke loses. It's basically down to Duke, Ohio State and West Virginia, but the Buckeyes still believe they have a legitimate shot with a win today. I like Ohio State to cruise in this game, possibly winning by double digits.

TEMPLE --- This pick almost seems too easy the way Temple has been playing, but I can't avoid this one just because I think it's a trap. Richmond is a respectable team that is clearly capable of winning this game, but I don't think they realize just how good Temple's defense is playing right now. I'm telling you... the Owls are a dangerous team that no one wants to face in the field of 64 because they don't have a lot of weaknesses and really attack you on the defensive side of the ball. Just listen to the total points allowed over their last 6 games: 44, 51, 57, 51, 53, and 41. Defense is the key to winning any tournament game and this one is no different. Plus, let's not forget Richmond handed the Owls a horrible setback in Virginia earlier this year, 71-54, and I can assure you they are thinking about revenge this afternoon knowing a win will likely eliminate the Spiders from post-season contention. Revenge, defense, and just better overall talent is enough for me. I like the Owls minus the small impost.

SORRY GUYS....CUDN'T GET ON TO POST!

Off topic, CPAW's avatar is, of course, from Michigan State vs. Indiana State in the NCAA championship. I've seen that picture forever, and always wondered why Magic looks annoyed; is he complaining that Bird is holding up the MS fast break and thus should get a delay of game warning? Does anybody know the story? Thanks.

That would be my guess Dafinch. I remember watching the game but couldn't tell you for sure. I know IS lost but MS had 3 NBA players that year and yes I'm making excuses for Larry.:toast:
