EZ's Plays For Sunday

A brutal 0-4 day on Saturday. Time for a big bounce back day in the NFL on Sunday. Five plays on my card. Best of luck!

-EZ

3* (310) Atlanta Falcons +3

The Steelers came up with a huge win last week in Cincinnati, but they can't be trusted to win by a margin on the road when favored. Atlanta put up a good fight last week in Green Bay and despite their losing record are still in first place in the horrible NFC South. The Steelers defense has allowed a lot of quarterbacks to put up big numbers this season and I expect Matt Ryan to do the same with or without injured wide receiver Julio Jones. Take the points.

3* (314) Cleveland Browns -1

This is a huge payback game for the Bengals as the Browns hammered them in Cincinnati on a Thursday night in the first meeting, but I like Cleveland to sweep the series today. Johnny Football gets the start at quarterback for Cleveland and I believe he will jump start the lifeless Cleveland offense with his ability to improvise and run the ball. The Browns defense is finally playing as expected and the Bengals haven't beat a winning team on the road this season. Play on Cleveland.

3* (315) Miami Dolphins +7.5

Despite being a revenge game, this could be a potential flat spot for the Patriots after back to back road games at Green Bay and San Diego. New England has a pretty easy schedule the rest of the way and this is by no means a must win game for the Patriots. For Miami the same can't be said. The playoffs begin today for the Dolphins and a loss will pretty much end their season. The Dolphins defense has been solid all year and the New England offense has slowed the pace the last couple of weeks. I expect a top notch effort from Miami. Take the points.

3* (317) Tampa Bay Bucs +3

Carolina quarterback Cam Newton is out this week after being involved in a car wreck this week so Derrick Anderson makes his second start of the season against Tampa Bay just like in week one. The Bucs have been much more competitive the last month of the season. Carolina is coming off of a blowout road win at New Orleans leans last week, but this Carolina team in Jekyll and Hyde and can't be trusted as a favorite. Take the points.

3* (329) San Francisco 49ers +9.5

Seattle looks like they are finding their stride, while San Francisco looks like they are fading fast. The Seahawks impressive road win parlayed with the 49ers loss to the Raiders has inflated this line. Only once have the Niners been this big of an underdog under Jim Harbaugh and they won that game straight up. San Francisco still has a dominate defense and games between these two teams are usually low scoring affairs. In a rivalry game anything is possible. Take the points.

CHASE DIAMOND

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Atlanta Falcons
10* Atlanta Falcons+3-115

This game features the 8-5 Steelers at the 5-8 Falcons. The Falcons know they must win if they want to win the NFC south and off a rough loss to the Packers there is no wiggle room left. They know the Saints have a good chance to win at the Bears Monday Night so expect the Falcons to be all hands on deck. Falcons play much better at home and while the Steelers need the win also they also have the Chiefs and Bengals on deck at home. This line opened as the Falcons as a 1 point favorite but has gone to +3 Falcons a huge move pushed by public money. 63% of the public are riding the road Steelers expect the Falcons to step up and win outrite but buy this line to 3 and take the Falcons for a 10* winner.

NFL Game: San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks
Time: Sunday 12/14 4:25 PM Eastern
Pick: San Francisco 49ers+10 (-105)

The San Francisco 49ers are all done in most people’s minds. The Niners have fallen to 7-6 on the season, and probably have to win out to make the playoffs. The Jim Harbaugh controversy has reached fever-pitch and most feel he and his team have checked out. As a result, Jim Harbaugh will see his first double-digit underdog spread since joining the NFL. But, hold on. This is still a solid, skilled, and veteran team with their season on the line vs. a hated rival, so I expect them to deliver a strong game in Seattle. As much as the Niners offense has struggled, teh defense is playing at an elite level, allowing just 16.5 points per game over their last four. The Seahawks seem to be turning it up a notch, winning three straight games. But, the offense has not been very good all season. They beat this San Francisco team by 16 on the road just a few short weeks ago, so you have to wonder how much respect they will give the 49ers, having beaten them easily recently. Seattle won a big game in Philly last week, and the one they really need comes next week against division leader Arizona, so they are in danger of taking a bit off the fastball against San Fran. I think Seattle is one of the top teeams in the league and they likely do enough to win this one, but I also think San Francisco does enough to stay close. The Niners are 25-12-2 ATS in their last 39 off a loss, and are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 vs. a team with a winning home record. Take the points on San Francisco in this one.

CHICAGO SPORTS CONNECTION
..............................................
Sunday early evening...
Bulls -4 @ Heat

Heat back in Miami for a sandwich home game.
Just back from a 5 game roadie...ended up in Denver and Utah Wednesday & Friday.

Home for one game...then back on the road for a Tuesday game (Atlanta ?)

Bulls are healthy right now.
...and really starting to gel.

I watched their win Friday night at home vs Portland.
...a great win that saw Derrick Rose starting to get back to his old self.
Driving to the bucket more..playing more aggressively.
The Bulls bench outscored Portlands 40-15.

This team is really playing well...and they are a very good road team.

Miami has lost 5 of their last 6 home games....all by at least 6 points... a few by double digits.

Bulls should take care of business here.
Laying the 4 with confidence.
