.Sunday sweep 30 Dime - Bengals

It's very obvious who is getting all the attention between these two teams in the headlines. It's the Brett Favre led Vikings. Well don't look now but the Bengals are in first place and have a more than respectable 9-3 record. I think we saw a slight chink in the amour of the Vikings last week with Favre looking like Favre in their loss to the Cardinals. When Brett has to play from behind, which has not been very often this year, we see the "old" Brett come out and throw the picks that he was so famous for. The Bengals are a team that can beat you both ways and you can't turn them one dimensional. They have a dominant O-Line that allows Cedrick Benson to churn out positive yardage every game. And the have a very good set of receivers who Palmer can choose from. Plus this Bengal defense has allowed the fewest points through 12 weeks in the NFL! We'll take the points in this game and by the way, the dog has covered in every Bengal game this season. Let's hope that trend continues today.

10 Dime - Bears

We see the Bears getting more than a field goal at home. This is a divisional game and the Packers are coming off an ugly Monday night affair. As a sharp bettor these are some of the things you need to start considering. Are we in love with Cutler? NO, but he didn't throw a pick last week, so it's a start. The Bears offense is turning more conservative and limiting the possible mistakes that Cutler can make. I expect this game to be close, and if the hook is on the three we like this game if it isn't on their, and I DO anticipate it TO BE THERE then you may have to buy the hook, but it should be there come kickoff.

5 Dime - Jaguars

Both of these teams are coming off of solid victories last week, with Jax beating the Texans and the Dolphins winning in come from behind fashion against the Patriots. All the press has the Dolphins fighting their way back into playoff contention. It's true, they are but SO ARE THE JAGS in the same boat. Another loss knocks knocks one of them out. The Jags have been getting pounded all week on the line by the sharps because they see value in a home team fighting for a playoff spot with the more experienced QB as well. So do we!! Lay the small number on the Jags as Gerrard has found some new WR help and has spread the ball around considerably plus he has the league's best rushing TD leader in MJD.

Maximus Report

NCAA BB 12/13/09
BEST BETS:
Take Villanova Wildcats -3 vs. Temple Owls. Location: Liacouras Center-Philadelphia, PA
Time: 3:00pm EST.
EVALUATION: The #3 Wildcats are undefeated at 9-0 SU and have been beating teams by an average of 14.9 pts a game. They are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games and have been averaging over 96 pts a game on the road which is ranked #1 in the NCAA. This is their third straight game on the road, and they just beat a scrappy St. Joseph’s team 97-89 and a recent Top 25 team in Maryland 95-86. These two schools are separated by about 20 miles, so this is an in city rivalry that Villanova has dominated for the last 4 years beating the Owls by an average of 16.25 pts a game. Temple is a tough opponent allowing just 52.9 pts a game, but they have not played any one has tough as Villanova. NOTE: THIS IS OUR BEST BET OF DAY.
PROJECTION: Villanova 81 Temple 73

TAKE PORTLAND ST VIKINGS -1 vs. Pepperdine Waves. Location: Pepperdine Waves – Malibu, CA Time: 5:00pm EST.
EVALUATION: Pepperdine is 3-7 SU through a third of their schedule, and have lost their last four of their last 5 games on their home court to sub-par competition such as Long Beach St., Pacific, Fresno St., and California Baptist. They have a home court average of 69.7 pts a game. The Vikings are 4-4 SU, but since starting the season at the Athletes in Action Basketball Classic where they lost 3 straight games in Seattle, Wa to Belmont, Wright St., and Washington U, the Vikings have went on a tear. In their last 5 games they have only lost one time to Stanford in Palo Alto, and in their 4 wins they have scored an average of 90.25 pts a game. The Vikings are shooting an average of 50.6% from the field, and we think now that they have their confidence, they will win this game on the road.
PROJECTION: PORTLAND ST 79 PEPPERDINE 71

I like Jacksonville's play vs the run and the heart they're showing as a team. Del Rio has them playing above their normal abilities and that makes them dangerous. I'll ride Jacksonville -1 for a 3* Play.

Too many points to give a solid team that plays well on the road. Public perception has inflated the number abouv the -3 to -4 mark. Take Cincinnati +6 for a 3* Play.

I'm not a big Bears fan but this is a good spot catching this many pts at home vs a division rival. They have some things that work to their advantage here and I'll take Chicago +4 for a 3* Play.
