Alright, Ravens go flat on us yesterday, today I am playing the Vikings over Cowboys. Sure the Cowboys have had a good little run here but I hardly look at it as all that big of deal. Listen, when you simply look at who they have played, any reasonable team could pull off the wins. In their last 6 wins they have played the pathetic Redskins twice, barely getting over them in 1 meeting, Oakland Raiders, the Eagles twice, which is an over rated team no matter how you look at them, and 1 solid win over the Saints, not impressive to me in the least. People want to talk about the Vikings problems as of late just like they did of the Saints, but the thing is the Vikings problems were all on the road, they did not lose at home this season, they were 8-0 at home so as far as I am concerned home field advantage is huge in this game, and in the 8 home wins they covered 6 of those with the non cover against the 49ers in the miracle win, and miss covered against the Ravens by 1. Dallas is getting a lot of hype because they finally won a playoff game, but the Eagles were simply not that great this season so beating them twice in a row is not all that impressive, the Cowboys have yet to win a road playoff game with Tony Romo and I do not trust the Cowboys over the Vikings and Brett Favre at home. I think we are in for a lower scoring game as both defenses have the ability to shut it down, but when you look at how the Vikings play at home and considering their last 5 home games they won by 17 points or more, and here is the big kicker, in those 5 games, they held the opponent to 10 points or less in every game. No matter what team you are to hold opponents to 10 or less in home games is a recipe for a win, the Vikings simply play much better at home than on the road and I still do not trust Romo on the road in a big game like this against a very solid defense that is going to pressure him all game long. The Cowboys are also just 1-4 ATS their last 5 playoff road games.
