On Sunday the NCAAB Bonus Play is on the Providence Friars. Game 805 at 12 noon eastern. Providence has won 17 straight vs losing teams and are an incredible 26-4 vs teams that average less than 64 points per game. They have only been a road dog of 3 or less twice the past 3 seasons, winning both times. This year they have covered 75% of the time as a dog. South Florida is a dismal 5-11 as a home favorite of 3 or less the past few years. They are 0-4 vs conference opponents off a loss and 0-4 off 3 or more losses. When they take on teams with a winning record they are 3-9 this season. Look for Providence to get the cash here today. On Sunday I have the 7 Unit Playoff Goy with 3 systems one that goes back to 1975, I also have 2 systems on the other playoff game today and a 100% NBA System.. Detroit and Valpo headed into this weekend in a four way tie for first place in the Horizon League. Joined by Butler and Wright St., they all four entered Friday with an equal 4-1 conference record.

Detroit hosted Butler on Friday and as a +5.5 home dog, got smoked by the Bulldogs 87-64. Valparaiso meanwhile, traveled to Wright State and as a +4 road dog, won outright handily by 11, 71-60.

Now Valpo heads into Detroit and the Titans have been installed as a -1.5 home favorite. Let's look a little bit closer into this line.

Valparaiso has been sitting atop the Horizon League this year with Butler in most statistical categories. They are coming into this game on a 3 game winning streak straight up as well as against the spread. This shows that they are winning and winning in strong fashion. Over the 3 game winning streak, Valpo has already handled 2 of the better teams in the league having beaten Cleveland St 64-58 at home and their recent road victory over Wright St. 71-60.

Detroit has been playing well, but the Titans are considered to be a notch below Butler, Valpo and Wright St. They have , in fact, lost 2 of their last 4 games, including their last two home games.

Now, why is Detroit FAVORED in this game? That is the question. The Titans were 5.5 point dogs to Butler, a team that is just a tick better than Valpo of late AND Detroit was thoroughly handled by Butler, losing by 23 points. Now Valpo comes in after a big outright dog win and is slated as a small dog?

Detroit couldn't handle Wisc-Milwaukee, a team considered to be inferior to them, at home on Jan 1st as the Titans lost outright as -9 point favorite.

So we have one team that is struggling, vs. a team that has been mowing down the cream of the leagues crop....

Well, here is the deal fellas, Detroit will right the ship this afternoon. They will respond well to the blowout on their own home court by Butler on Friday. You will see a strong effort out of these young men. Valpo on the other hand, has been playing a bit above their heads and will now come back to earth.

Looking at the betting percentages, the public is of course hitting Valparaiso up to the tune of almost 60% on the small dog... The line is holding steady at the moment though as the books are getting exactly what they want.

We will play the team coming off the embarrassing loss with something to prove.
