Jake Timlin Sunday's Action 400♦ Colorado Rockies
Specify Marquis & Latos as starting pitchers or play is void
Go with the Rockies as they bound back for the easy road win.
In great shape to bounce back I love the Rockies today as I am a bit shocked Colorado is not a much bigger favorite. Reason why I believe Colorado should be a much bigger favorite is the fact they own the Padres having won 9 of the last 13 meetings. Not to make it 10 of 14 will be Jason Marquis who at 11-6 leads the NL in wins and who is only getting better over his last three starts thanks to posting a 1.17 ERA.
Meanwhile, for the Padres they come into today with two things going against them as they have failed to win back to back home games in nearly two months and with Latos making his MLB debut after being called up from just single A baseball. Mix that in with the fact the San Diego is just 4-17 over their last 22 games and I don’t see they winning back to back home games.
Flat out, when I saw the price tag on this game I was tempted to play the run line as I don’t see the Rockies losing with Marquis pitching against a rookie, but with runs hard to come by at Petco I will settle for a Colorado win.
All Colorado!
