Saturday's Selection ...
For Saturday, Top-Rated 1000♦ is the Cubs with Arrieta on the RUN LINE over Seattle with Miley. At 8:00 am eastern time, the Cubs are -1 1/2 runs, -125 in Vegas and offshore. Note: Both listed pitchers must start, or NO ACTION on this release.
Well, it's clear that something is amiss with Jake Arrieta, as he has allowed 4 runs or more in 4 of his last 5 starts dating back to the end of June, but all of those starts where he was rocked came on the road. In his one home start in that stretch, he allowed just one run in 7 innings against the Mets.
For the season, Arrieta is 4-2 at Wrigley, but it's his 1.61 home ERA that has me interested in back Chicago on the Run Line this Saturday afternoon. That and the fact the Cubs hammered the Mariners in the series opener on Friday.
Wade Miley is 0-6 his last 6 starts, and his road ERA is 5.46 this season.
With Friday's loss, the Mariners are now 5-14 their last 19 road games, while the Cubs moved to 33-16 at home this year.
Run Line the way to go today at Wrigley.
Cubs name it once again here on Saturday.
Note: Both listed pitchers must start, or NO ACTION on this release.
