SATURDAY: No. 8 West Virginia vs. No. 9 Villanova – 12:00 p.m. ET
Villanova is dovetailing to close out the season. The Wildcats have lost three of their last five games straight up, though they did win in Cincinnati 77-73 in their last outing. The struggles don’t stop there; Villanova is just 2-4 against the spread in its last games. Even playing at home hasn’t done much good—though the Wildcats are 6-4 ATS in their past 10 games at Villanova Pavilion, they’ve covered just once in their past three games there.
West Virginia just blew out Georgetown 81-68 this week, giving the team its fourth win in five games. Those results haven’t translated to college basketball odds, however; the Mountaineers are just 5-5 in their past 10 games against the spread. It hasn’t been any better on the road—West Virginia is a pitiful 4-6 against the spread in its last 10 games away from home.
Villanova and West Virginia crossed paths in early February, with the Wildcats claiming an 82-75 win. The head-to-head match up has been quite close, with West Virginia owning a slight 6-4 record both SU and ATS. Villanova has showed some holes lately, though, and West Virginia should be able to keep it tight on the road.
Pick: West Virginia
