I still do believe that North Carolina is a better team than they have shown but now with Ed Davis out that is the final straw for them.
Roy Williams’ squad has just been pathetic over the past month plus losing four in a row and seven of eight and just fell to a horrific 2-7 in the ACC. They just shriveled up in the final five minutes at home against Duke and in the end mustered a whole 54 points. Today the Heels face a capable NC State team that showed an upside in blitzing the Blue Devils about a month ago at home.
Things have not gone as well for State recently as they were just fully outclassed in Raleigh on Wednesday by Virginia Tech but in this rivalry spot with revenge I can’t help but back the Pack.
Davis is a huge loss to UNC and right now the homeboys are as reeling as a team could ever be. This is far from the national championship team from last season and right now UNC is just trying to make the NIT, forget about the NCAA.
Sidney Lowe’s team is dangerous with Horner, Smith, Gonzalez and a few others and they are the epitome of a squad that on any given night can give a superior team fits. To be honest with you right now I’m not so sure that North Carolina is even that much superior.
