TCU Quarterback Trevone Boykin to miss Oklahoma clash
TCU Horned Frogs quarterback Trevone Boykin will not start and “is unlikely to play” versus the Oklahoma Sooners Saturday night, according to ESPN.
The one time Heisman hopeful picked up an ankle injury versus Kansas one week ago and had been questionable to play throughout the week. This coming in the wake of the news that start wide receiver Josh Doctson would miss the remainder of the regular season with a wrist injury leaves the Frogs without it’s lethal 1-2 punch.
This opens the door for redshirt freshman Foster Sawyer to get the start under center. Sawyer came on in relief for Boykin in the Kansas game and completed one of his seven pass attempts for 42 yards and a touchdown.
TCU opened as a 10-point road dog but that moved to +14.5 and then all the way to +18.5.
