John Ryan SportsGame: Ohio State University at Penn State Oct 25 2014 8:00PM
Prediction: Penn State
Reason: 50* graded play on Penn State as they take on Ohio State in BIG Ten Conference action set to start at 8:00 PM ET. The simulator shows a high probability that PSU will lose this game by fewer than 11 points and has a reasonable shot at a major upset win on national TV. Given this favorable projection, I will suggest making this a combination wager consisting of a 21* play on the line and a 4* play using the money line. Supporting this graded play is a proven system posting a 45-14 mark using the money line for 76% winners and has made 32 units/unit wagered. Play against a road team using the money line (OHIO ST) that is an excellent offensive team scoring >=34 PPG and is now facing an excellent defensive team allowing <=16 PPG and after a playing a game where 60 total points or more were scored. Here is a second money line system that has gone 22-6 for 79% winners and has made 24.4 units/unit wagered since 2008. It has averaged a +140 DOG play as well. Play on a home team using the money line (PENN ST) that is a struggling rushing team averaging 3.25 or less rushing yards/carry and after allowing 75 or less rushing yards last game. Of the many projections, one shows that PSU will gain between 7.0 and 7.5 yards per pass attempt. In past games, PDSU is a solid 12-4 against the money line (+8.3 Units) when they gain 7 to 7.5 net passing yards/attempt since 1992. PSU will be able to get the passing game going with bubble screens, quick slants, and crossing routes that in turn will open up the space between the tackles for the ground game to succeed. I also think the no-huddle will be used at key times by PSU when the OSU defensive front starts to get gassed and for PSU to not allow a defensive substitution. Happy Valley at night is not a friendly environment for opposing teams to come into and overcome. The stadium seats 106K fans ranking third largest in all of football and also makes that population base the third largest city, so to speak, in PA behind Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. So, there are more people in that stadium than all but two cities in the entire state. This is a game that will be hard fought in the trenches and a game that PSU can win.
