Stan Sharp | CFB Side Sat, 10/10/09 - 8:00 PM U5

triple-dime bet 386 Iowa -8.0 (-110) betus vs 385 Michigan
Analysis: Stan is Betting the IOWA. Stan notes that the public will be betting the MICHIGAN as they look attractive as a road dog getti‡ng over a TD. Fact is Vegas made this game over a TD because they know Michigan is not as good as they appear and that the public will be betting Michigan which is a mistake. Iowa will be the toughest defense Michigan has faced all year and it will slow down that Michigan Offense. Expect Iowa to pound the ball at Michigan and wear them down in the second half. Stan has Iowa winning this game by 14 -17 points. TAKE IOWA as STAN'S TRIPLE DIME CONFERENCE WISE GUY GOY and make them a TRIPLE DIME PLAY.

4 Unit Play. #904. Take the Colorado Rockies -125 over the Philadelphia Phillies (Saturday @ 6pm est). I think this is a great opportunity to fade Ol' Pedro. Martinez has given up six runs in his last seven innings. The Rockies are one of those teams that are just magical at home and they have the ability to pull things together like they did last season. It is so tough to get into the playoff mode of pitching if you have not been pitching throughout the season. It is tough to ask Pedro to step into this light and do well given that he has not pitched for a good portion of the season or has struggled to pitch near the end of the season coming into this game. I like the Rockies as a playoff favorite as well as they are 4-0 when they are playoff favorites, 8-2 when favored at home and Phillies are 0-4 when they face a pitcher with a WHIP greater than 1.30. Hammel has been one of the most solid pitchers for the Rockies and certainly he is primed for this game. If Hammel can win this game on the road against the Phillies I believe he will certainly be game at home when the Rockies fan pack cheering him on.

Good luck,
IC

i started a year ago placing over 80% of my bets at halftime.i never watch a first half on any ball game.i found out line value is unreal with halftime lines.if you think about it it pays out the same time when game is final. these guys that count yourself out of it the 1st half all i can tell you is that you have alot to learn about beating the books. you will never be a gambler and win if your losing your hair watching a first half ball game.hang in there long enough you see what im talking about.

Wally Ballz

Fell Last Night with the Boston Red Sox. Who cant seem to find their stroke against Angels pitching.

Wally looks to bounce back today with two plays.

Ole Miss +5 vs Bama. Sneed will look to live up to all his hype in this big game. Ole Miss at home getting 5 points is to much to pass up in Wally's book.

Cardinals -165 v LAD. Look for Pinero to step up and pitch well, so the Cards live another day. They will avoid the sweep and pick up some momentum with a win here. You can only pitch around Pujols for so long, sooner or later hes going to hurt the LAD.

Wisconsin at Ohio State
Play: Wisconsin +16.5

Wisconsin has started the season 5-0, but several experts do not have much respect for the Badgers based on their weak opening schedule. However, they have two quality wins over Big 10 opponents Minnesota and Michigan State. The Spartans are a decent team this season, with a win over Michigan State and a close defeat at Notre Dame. I feel there are two main reasons why Wisconsin can stay within the number. First, their starting quarterback, Scott Tolzien, is a senior that has been in the program for several years now. He is not a typical first year starter and it has shown with the experience he has displayed. Tolzien makes several references to managing the offense, playing within himself, and avoiding mistakes. These are keys that are critical to quarterbacks playing well on the road. Also, Wisconsin has a dominant running game, averaging over 200 yards per game on the ground with their bruising tailback John Clay. While Ohio State does have a dominant rush defense, I expect Wisconsin to put enough points on the board to keep this game close. In addition, Ohio State does not have an explosive offense, which makes it much harder to cover this of a spread against quality opponents. Look for this game to be closer than expected.

Florida at LSU
Pick: Florida -8

Te-Bow or not Te-Bow - While the rest of the world focuses on the decision to start Tebow or not, I'm more interested in the rest of the fields players.....Florida looks destined to make another run for NCAA Championship and although a lot of that rides on Tebow's back (head), they also are stacked on Defense which will be facing a mediocre offense. This game will be won on field position and on the backs of Florida's defense....Look for LSU to give a battle and pressure any QB under center, but they will struggle scoring enough to win and/or at least cover the spread!
