4 Unit Play. Take Over 147 between Washington vs. Indiana (Saturday @ 7pm est). Washington fell short in their first playoff game vs. the Fever as they lost 79-88. Considering they needed that game to hold serve and failed to do so, I expect them to show up in a big way. Now, having said this, I can't go against Indiana at home or during the playoffs as this team is still the East leading squad who put up twenty wins in a hurry this season. Led by Katie Douglas and Tamika Catchings, this team has shown great efficiency. Rathe than taking the side here or going against Washington on the bounce-back or Indiana who is playing well, let's ride the over. The first game totaled at 167 and although I discussed having a lean on the over in the game, I failed to pull the trigger. I do like the over once again as with such a big net of 8 points, I expect Washington to be an active dog and likely push this game over the posted total. Its do or die for Washingtn in many ways as they need to show up big here if they have any hopes of winning this series or giving themselves a chance. The Mystics are 9-4 to the Over when facing an Eastern Conference opponent and the Over is 5-1 beween these two teams the last 6 games.
4 Unit Play. #616. Take the Phoenix Mercury -7.5 over the San Antonio Silver Stars (Saturday @ 10pm est). I'm on the Phoenix band wagon again today as I expect them to bounce-back off of their first game loss to the Silver Stars. However, this doesn't mean anything as the Dream were in the same boat yesterday and fail to show up at home against the Shock. Nevertheless, the Mercury have been a solid bounce-back team all year. This team has covered each time they have played the Silver Stars at home and the home team has covered each of the last 5 meetings this year. This is of course a must win game for the West leading Mercury and I expect Taurasi to show some leadership here as they will not let off the gas pedal from start to finish. The Silver Stars are a very competent team led by Becky Hammon and Vicky Johnson but I believe Phoenix will be very focused today and will have something to prove. The Mercury are 8-1 ATS following an ATS loss and the 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games.
4 Unit Play. Take Under 181 between the Phoenix Mercury @ San Antonio Silver Stars (Saturday @ 10pm est). This is a natural extension of the play above. I believe in the favorite/under and the dog/over theory and have written about it many a times. I look for Phoenix to be successful as usual on offense at home likely putting up 90 or so points but to hold the Silver Stars through an increased defensive presence to about 75 points. I have this game at or around 168. The last 6 games for the Mercury at home have gone under.
