I'm pretty new here and was just wondering if anyone knew anything about Sean Michaels. I look at the sites about every day and haven't seen his name in quite a while. Thanks for any help.
this is what his website says (about his absence, etc)
"
So where have I been?
Don't think I haven't heard that question a couple hundred times the past few months. Without getting into specifics, let's just say I've had my share of hospital food since late May.
Las Vegas has some of my favorite restaurants in the country. Prime Steakhouse at the Bellagio, Tao and Zeffirino's at the Venetian, ll Mulino at Caesar's Palace Forum Shops, SW Steakhouse at the Wynn - I frequent them all. And you don't realize how good they are until you're ordering from the hospital menu.
Anyway, I've been out and about for a while, but you just don't jump right back into handicapping and betting games after a lenghty absence, especially in baseball. It's the one sport where you've got to have a "rhythm" in order to get a feel for what's going on. So, I waited until Interleague play - which I absolutely hate - was over, and I've spent the past four weeks doing nothing but following teams and pitchers. And now today, I'm ready to step up to the betting window once more.
My first inclination was to back Philadelphia on the Run Line at home against Florida as the Phillies rebound from Friday's 3-2 loss with Cole Hamels on the mound. Hamels coming off a bad start at San Francisco didn't bother me. But Howard and Utley are both struggling in the heart of the Philly line-up, and with Victorino and Ibanz playing at less than 100% too, that got me off the Phillies.
Thought about another big favorite on the Run Line, St. Louis at Pittsburgh, as the Cardinals send Adam Wainwright to the mound. He's been pitching as good, if not better, than Carpenter the past two months, but remember his last outing? It was at home against a slumping Houston club last week and he came up on the short end of a 2-0 score. Granted, the Pirates are bad, but something tells me today is not the day to lay the 1 1/2 runs with Wainwright.
San Diego caught my eye briefly with how well Latos has been pitching, but not at -155, even if the Mets are giving Parnell his first major league start. And although the Padres have won seven straight at home in the series, I don't feel confident laying 1 1/2 runs with this offensively challenged team at a pitchers' park like Petco.
Instead, for today's Best Bet I've found another favorite where I do feel extremely comfortable laying the 1 1/2 runs as I think this team has momentum on its side and a decided advantage in the pitching department today."
