Top pick: #2 (ARENA ELVIRA) - Excellent debut saw her away slowly, reach contention, and rally for the place spot. Daughter of "Ghostzapper" comes-back a month later with a pair of nice works and lasix added. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1a (Channel) - Part of a Darley owned entry she showed good speed at Churchill in her debut in late May and has been on the shelf since. Working nicely locally and daughter of "Storm Cat" is a win threat.
3rd pick: #7 (Wild Banshee ) - Also showed good speed in her debut in the same race as the top pick. She chased early, backed-off the pace, and finished evenly. Nice drill here on August 1st suggests that better is coming.
4th pick: #8 (Atavistique) - Daughter of the recently deceased "Dixie Union" stumbled in her debut and raced very wide while finishing evenly. Working nicely here the past month and she draws a good post for this distance.

The Rays have been on quite a skid in the last week, dropping thier last 5. But they send David Price and his 2.82 ERA to the hill tonight. The Tigers counter with Armanoo Galarraga, you know, they guy who got gipped out of a perfect game just two months ago. Both of these teams are stuggling to find offense against good pitching - both teams have scored under 3 in 3 of their last 5. If Galarraga can throw a solid game and return to his June form, this is an easy play. Take the Under tonight
