Atlanta Braves at Houston Astros
Play: Houston Astros

The Astros are 10-0 at home after a loss in which they had 6 or fewer hits and had more than two team-left-on-base. Note that the Astros’ starting pitchers have produced a quality start every time and that they were the underdog in each of the last five games.

MATT RIVERS COMP

Bonus Play for Monday is the New York Yankees on the RUN LINE over the sliding Cleveland Indians.

The Indians have lost their last 4, and 9 of 10 overall. They are also just 3-8 their last 11 on the road, and versus the Yankees they are on a 3-13 slide.

New York has won all 3 meetings this year by 4 runs or more, and they have now won the last 5 meetings versus the Indians by 4 runs or better.

Carlos Carrasco will work against A.J. Burnett. Burnett's last 20 innings of work versus Cleveland show just 4 runs allowed and a 2-0 mark.

The Indians are simply going the wrong way, and I don't see them avoiding another ugly loss at Yankee Stadium tonight.

Yankees on the RUN LINE to deliver the win.
4? N.Y. YANKEES RUN LINE

MARC LAWRENCE COMP

Play On: NY Mets w/Pelfrey vs Maholm
Note: The Mets and Pirates conclude their four game series when Mike Pelfrey takes the mound against Pat Maholm in Pittsburgh Monday evening. Pelfrey enters the contest with wins in four of his five career teams starts against the Bucs and wins in six of his last eight starts during the month of June. With Maholm 0-4 with a 10.05 ERA in his last four tries against the invaders, we'll back New York here tonight. We recommend a 1-unit play on the Mets. Thank you and good luck as always.

BIG AL COMP

At 7:05 pm, our complimentary selection is on the Tampa Bay Rays over the Detroit Tigers. At this rate, the Rays may never want to return to Tampa the rest of the season. Tampa continues to play sub-par baseball at home, while going out on the road and hitting the tar out of the ball. The Rays started this road trip scoring five runs in three games in Seattle, but as soon as that series was over, they were up to their old road tricks again, sweeping the Angels in Anaheim while out-scoring them 14-5 in the three game series before flying all the way back to the east coast and taking two of three from the Orioles while scoring 16 runs in that series (with all of the runs coming in the last two games). Today they take their road show to Detroit and a date with the Tigers and lefty starter Phil Coke. Coke recently came off the DL from an ankle injury but unfortunately did not have a good return start when he faced the Rangers on June 8. Despite having the benefit of one of the more pitcher-friendly parks in the league, only three of Coke's 10 starts have been in Detroit, and he has yet to win a game there, going 0-2 with a 6.28 ERA compared to compiling a 1-4 record with a 3.38 ERA in nine games (seven starts) on the road. Tampa lost both games of a two-game set against Detroit in May but in 2010 it took six of seven meetings. Take the Rays. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

Golden contender
On Monday the MLB Bonus Play is on the Cincinnati Reds. Game 911 at 10:10 eastern. The Reds fit a nice dog system that pertains to playing against teams like the Dodgers that are off a road dog win and scored 10 or more runs vs teams off a loss. The Reds have B. Arroyo on the mound and he has had success of late vs the Dodgers. In his last 3 starts he has beat the Dodgers every time and has allowed just 4 runs in 20 innings against them. The Dodgers counter with H. Kuroda and he has lost his last 4 starts. Look for the Reds to get game 1 of this series

Jimmy Moore
Sport: NHL
Game: Stanley Cup Finals Game 6
Pick: 5* rated play on Vancouver ML +125

Jimmy is GIVING AWAY a 5* winner on game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals as a thank you to all of my customers for their support during the soon to be over hockey season! Vancouver was completely embarrassed in games 3 and 4 in Boston and that will provide a ton of motivation on top of the obvious motivation to win the Cup. Vancouver has shown they can win the close games in this series and there is very little chance that this game will be a blow out either way. Take the Canucks to parade the Cup around the ice in Boston tonight. Thank you to all my custmers this past hockey season.

Monday Bonus Play is the Padres.

MLB (915) LOS ANGELES ANGELS at (916) SEATTLE

Take: Under

Reason: The Angels are having a terrible June, now 2-8 after Sunday's loss to the Royals,9-0. The Angels offensive woes have been a big problem as they have scored just 22 runs in their last 10 games. In fact, the Angels have scored three runs or less in 21 of their last 35 games. Now they face of the of the best pitching staffs in the AL in the Mariners. Jason Vargas starts for the Mariners, he's 4-3 with a 3.94 ERA this year. Against the Angels, Vargas is 3-2 lifetime with a 1.86 ERA. Good news for the Angels is that they counter wtih Dan Haren. While Haren is just 5-4 on the season, he has an outstanding ERA of just 2.41. Haren has won just one of his last nine starts, but that is because of lack of run support to the tune of 12 total runs in 10 games. Low total here on Monday, but I don't see either team getting much. I wouldn't be surprised by a 1-0 final. Take the UNDER.

Our systems say to go for:

Rockies (-175),
Diamondbacks (+127),
Brewers (-103),
Mariners (+118).

Diamondbacks [127] versus Marlins (1.0 Units) - The Diamondbacks are looking to get a 3 game sweep today on the road. Factors are against them when you look at that. But with them facing a rival their next game in the Giants, we would expect that they want to play great to take their momentum into that series. Also, figure that the Marlins' pitcher Nolasco kind of sucks. He is -4.2 units at home this season. -2.16 as a favorite. Though he is +3.7 units on the road and +1.7 units as a dog. He is one of those pitchers that we look to bet against when he's at home. Last season he was -5 units at home while +8.3 units on the road. Same thing the year before. -0.2 units at home, +5.9 units on the road. So the Marlins don't deserve the home field advantage today. Don't really expect their desire to avoid a 3-game sweep to surpass the D'backs desire to take good momentum into their next series. And these Marlins have only won 1 game L10. So where's the justification in them being favorite??? Blah blah. These Diamondbacks are a live dog. They have value. Take listed pitcher Nolasco.

Reds [111] versus Dodgers (1.0 Units) - Bronson Arroyo is a pitcher you want to bet on the road in certain key instances. He hasn't had that much luck this season, though he'd beaten the Dodgers 2-1 earlier this month. The last two full seasons, Arroyo has been -5.2 units at home and +7.7 units on the road. The Dodgers are a pretty good team to go against right now. They just had two wins scoring double digit runs on the road against the Rockies. Now they travel back home to start a meaningless non-divisional rivalry game. Facing a seasoned pro in Arroyo should stifle their offense today as opposed to their streaking offense breaking out again. Kuroda is also the Dodgers' second worse moneyline pitcher this season. Also factor in the altitude drop from Colorado to Los Angeles in a day's time. We'll take this game listed pitchers Arroyo vs Kuroda

Yesterday winner with the under on San Francisco.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Seattle Mariners
AL West action closes out the Monday night slate in the Pacific Northwest when Dan Haren leads the Angels into battle against Jason Vargas and the Mariners in the series opener of the division rivals scheduled three-game set.

Manager Mike Scioscia’s Halos are entering dangerous territory. Heading into their series finale with the Kansas City Royals Sunday afternoon, the Angels trailed the AL West leading Texas Rangers by five-games winning just two of their L/10 overall games played (-$755). What hurts most about their recent losing streak is that eight of those games were played within the comfy confines of Angels Stadium. Tonight’s battle marks the first of a 12-game road trip; LA has however done better as a visitor than it has at home going 16-16 and producing a modest $112 profit. Torii Hunter and his mates have come out victories in five of their L/7 series openers.

After finishing up the laughing stock of the league a short season ago (-$3689), the Mariners find themselves right in the thick of the AL West race due to their stellar starting pitching staff and decent bullpen work. The offense leaves much to be desired with all important stats ranked amongst the bottom third of the league, but regardless, the M’s are a feisty bunch that only finds themselves 2.5-games back of the Rangers with Sunday’s series finale with the Detroit Tigers pending. The Mariners currently check in as the 10th best $$$-team in the league ($242) having won 18 of 33 games at Safeco Field ($142).

The Angels made a mockery of this rivalry last season winning 14 of the teams 18 overall meetings. This year however, the M’s hold the upper hand winning the team’s only two match-ups at home back in the middle of April; the ‘under’ cashed in both contests. LA has dropped each of its L/5 tussles against a lefty, but stand 4-1 in Dan Haren’s L/5 trips to the bump against +.500 opposition. Seattle has dominated right handed pitching winning 15 of its L/18 encounters, but has also dropped eight of Jason Vargas’ L/11 home stints.

PICK: Angels/Mariners UNDER

HOUSTON ASTROS (+120) --
The Braves are going for their first 4 game sweep of HOU in Houston since back in 1992! That's 19 years ago and the Astros were playing at the old Astrodome still. Rodriguez pitches well against ATL in his career, going 2-0 with a 2.00 ERA in his 4 starts against them. HOU may be the worst team in baseball, but I think history makes this a good spot to take a chance on the HOUSTON ASTROS as a nice little underdog at home

At this point Teddy ought to "cover(s)" his head in shame. It looks like he took his own advice and bet "the house" on one of his own picks and lost!
