Pretty good match up here in the quarterfinal round of the NIT as Arkansas has to travel cross country to Berkley to take on the Cal Golden Bears. Both of these teams won their first round games easily in the NIT and are now looking to get one step closer to New York tonight. Arkansas has traditionally been a very good "play against" on the road and especially as road dogs, but they did make some gradual improvements in that performance late in the year. With that said, there are still some really alarming numbers when looking at the Hogs. First, Arkansas is 9-19 ATS in road games over the last 3 seasons and 0-6 ATS in road games in March games over the last 3 seasons. How about one more...Arkansas is 1-10 ATS in road games after a win by 10 points or more over the last 2 seasons. With all those trends in play, we get them vs. a Cal ball club that was 14-4 at home this season, but only 7-9 against the number. With all of that in account, we do favor Mike Montgomery on the coaching angle over Mike Anderson and we think that home teams at this point in these postseason tournaments have a decided advantage.Add to that the fact that Arkansas has to travel three times zones across country and we definitely like the short priced home favorite here tonight.
