Of course the records on DeMarco's site are fictitious. It's simple how it works.

Al drives the unwitting to buy a certain capper's phony big game, or to ride the capper who's on a streak. So naturally every mark who visits the site buys the picks of the same 1-2 'Cappers.' If the hot capper wins Al will keep promoting him. If he loses, every other non-existent capper on the site was of course 3-0. So come Saturday somebody's going to be on a 14-1 tear, and naturally that's the guy who had 0 sales Mon-Fri.

This is not a new tactic for Al. He operated his compline the same way, inventing 1-3 new services per week, all of whom were Al. One or two of them is always on a streak.
