This bill will not be seen on the floor of the Senate this session. Every bill that is reported out of a committee is "placed on the calendar."

The Senate has a ton of more important things to do before they can even think about a bill this trivial.(Still have 1/2 dozen approps bills, Medicare Conference, Energy Bill conference, FAA Reauthorization to do this year).

Even if this bill gets passed by the Senate, it will never survive a conference committee....just my 2 cents

USMCMP,

Interesting thought there, I was under the impression if it gets to conference committee they would just put out a lesser bill along the lines of the House and then pass it and get it signed.

Don't you agree that Congress would absolutely love to pass a bill that makes a statement, but has no teeth to it? Almost sounds like a simple resolution that passes with no opposition to me, but effectively does nothing but give the sponsors "credentials" with the small contigent that cares about this ban.

Wild Bill....in other years I would completly agree with you. But this year is strange, and Senate/House relationships are strained to say the least.
