CEF 's gold and silver IS INDEED audited....

beware though that it is nominated in Canadian Currency(which is a good thing), so the fund has not risen as much as say GLD, which is NOT audited and owned by the central banking cartel

cef is a decent idea, but if people are going to buy that they may as well buy a stock like ssri which has hundreds of millions of oz in the ground they paid pennies per oz for or use something like www.goldmoney.com as money is easier to access.

if the current premium is only 3-4% thats below what people would pay commission to buy physical bullion, but that premium does vary.

ceo at ssri used to ride a bicycle to work. not sure thats true now.

now thats a guy you want entrusted with your nestegg.

imho, people should buy physical gold themselves and find their own ways to store it, and use certain stocks for the bulk of their silver investments.

the already proven market leaders will outperform what the underlying commodity returns, so its not wise to have all ones precious metals investments only in physical. its also unwise to have all ones precious metals investments only in stocks.

if you only own stocks, and the system melts down, you will own paper and nothing else.

whoa I wasnt taking a shot, I was asking a question basically

how is digital gold different from the printing press?

the digital gold at goldmoney.com has physical gold backing all the deposits and it is regularly audited.

there hasnt been an audit of gold at ft knox in decades.

i wonder why???? probably because alot of it, possibly all of it, thats said to be there, is no longer there.

Base, what's your read on anticipated consumer spending this season? Seems tenuous, but us americans do like to buy "stuff"

Consumer spending is actually the effect of economic growth. With an absolute downturn coming in growth eventually Id expect to see consumer spending in general drop, but will the downturn occur fast and hard enough to truly effect Christmas 07,Im not sure.

I think youll see, like many consumer based companies have recently stated in thier earnings....making good profits, just off of the astronomical #s of past quarters.

Stick with the Gamestop ,software and hardware production costs down, profit margins up.The kiddies will get their PS3,360 and Wii 'stuff'.

Of what purpose is buying gold from a website that holds on to it? Do that many websites accept payment from places like goldmoney?

as dollar falls in value you wont be negatively affected.

goldmoney does have some payment options, but its still limited.

not sure how those other gold sites like egold work, but have read guys here using it.

i think egold was being used to transfer money to books, but i think its now blocked.

bidu at 368 now.

goog threatening falling through 700 again.

nasdaq looks like another trainwreck today.

whats different today compared to alot of the stock market declines the past few years, is that commodities are holding steady or rising during the midst of this.

h10, i havent bet any sports tonight yet, but if i do, you know the drill...fade away.

Yeah I saw it. I can't believe H. Ben had the audacity to say that you will only feel the higher prices if you buy imported stuff.

I really wish RP had pointed out that the economy is so globalized now that it hardly matters anymore. There are foreign interests involved in just about everything we buy.

Also Bernanke's contemptuous facial expression literally gave me nausea.

eek, you should be contacting companies for advertising within this particular thread.

you deserve to collect some type of royalty from this after rx takes its cut.

this thread is already a classic.

i suspect it will eventually have more than 100k posts in few years.
