I had missed some great posts on AG a few pages back

I agree 100%, especially with ADM (sold it myself)

If I could add one thing:

developing countries, especially India China and Russia, are developing an insatiable appetite for good food - and that is something that is only going to progress in the future.

That is also good for America, for that is our greatest export (besides inflation) - I largely missed the AG boat, but will be loading up soon once priced come down....DBA one of my favorites

india will probably be the big winner in this all

only 10% of their GDP depends on exports and such

only thing they really dependent on is ME oil and prices are falling

the domestically produce enough of their own food and resources

and indians like to spend like americans, and are becoming more and more americanized

asians on the other hand are stingy!!

china will have major overcapacity issues with US consumer falling on its face

intc still making new lows for today.

im really surprised you own a stock like that jdog and especially surprised you are going to add.

place a few knives on your kitchen table and with one hand push them off the table while catching them with the other.

let us know how that works out for you.

if i was smart i'd just stick with it and not try to get cute

we'll see if i'm right this time or not

yeah hearing jdog intel comments is quite surprising to me as well

but he's not a bear

a hyperinflationary gold bug that thinks bernake's printage will keep us afloat?

or that's what i read from him

how low do you think INTC can go???

who knows all depends on how bad this recession is

but i'll be there to buy it in single digits if this bear gets really viscous as i think it could

they will survive long term

:toast:

zero point in trying to bottom fish/catch falling knives right now

let the fed cut and see how the markets respond

and continue to keep eye on economic data actively

DAW I just think, because the tech sector was trashed earlier this decade, that it is "due"

we started to see this happen in 2007

I also think the dividend paying blue-chips will lead the way in any comeback, and INTC qualifies - it's also a USD story as most of their biz is overseas....indians and chinese want computers now too

I have less than 5% in tech, and I have to force myself to be diversified - nevertheless a small position and even smaller add-on at 17

new low for bidu.

jdog, if you really want intc at 17's take a shot and put your order during todays after hours trade.

husker, i have no idea where the bottom is for intc, but i do know that alot of the current tech stocks are going bankrupt before a true bull market can resume.

:nohead:

i'm a good fade when i try to call near term bottoms

although looks like tech's holding down the fort for now with a bounce at the daily lows

BTW - if i'm not mistaken, the lowest INTC got in the depths of the tech crash was 17 - so hell yes I'm buying

also, that 17 was in 2002 dollars, which we know have devalued 30% or so, so that makes the 2002 17 worth 22 in todays dollars...

gonna be some crow eaten in this thread in about 9 months, even if i'm the one eating it. All in good fun though

Actually I would argue the inverse is true.

Intc is total shit right now.

Its your money, but hey the market doesnt allow anybody to have all winners.

If the stock was 17 then it should be alot higher than that right now.

I dont agree with buying stocks that are lagging their own sector and the overall market.

10 year chart of intc below.

tech's overall are still overvaluedn drawing stupid P/E valuations

the tech bubble was never allowed to fully deflate

intel is a blue chip growth stock now

should have P/E on par with BUD and such

after this haircut its P/E is now on par with BUD

but at the same time think intel will feel the rath of recession more than a global beer distributor will (people still drink regardless) so has further down to go

all these tech's still have this mantra of being techs so they in turn should have higher valuations

its all nonesense and will get flushed out of market during this bear swing down
