Seems mostly symbolic, let Assad know he has to find other ways to kill people that don't violate Geneva conventions.

Having him on edge is probably better than having the SoS say that we aren't looking to remove him.

We'll see where it goes. Seems like a brushback pitch.

It isn't like he is advocating for democracy up in that bitch or anything.

Regardless it will never sit right with me that president can decided without congressional approval to fire 59 tomahawks into a nation that is no threat to us nor attacked us..

hasty military decisions is why we have so many problems in the region and in general (massive debt).. doing more of the same seems insane..

Doesn't sit right with me either, but a lot doesn't.

This just doesn't really register. If tomorrow his handlers are talking about a "safer future in Syria" or some other interventionist BS then I'll begin to worry.

Just another data point to add to what I knew all along.. trump is more of the same..

----------

[h=1]Have Goldman Sachs & The Deep State Taken Over The Trump Administration?[/h]Authored by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,
The writing is on the wall and the message is not good. Trump will likely expand the war in Syria and increase tensions with Russia. The American empire is likely to implode under Trump’s watch, as he once again betrays many of the people who voted for him.
Hillary or Trump, we’d be getting the same thing. We had no real choice, and empires don’t reform. Prepare for impact.
– From yesterday’s post: The Imperial War Machine Marches Forward Under Donald Trump
The takeover of the Trump administration by Goldman Sachs has been obvious for months now. The takeover by the deep state has taken a bit longer, hence the non-stop Russia hysteria, which was clearly intended to back him into a corner. If Trump takes military action against Syria, we’ll know for certain the deep state coup is complete.
Fortunately, some Trump supporters are starting to wake up, with former lead investigative reporter for Breitbart, Lee Stranahan, being one of them. Lee recently recorded an extremely important video message, and I ask all of you to listen to it in full and share. He knocks the ball out of the park, and while I was never a Trump supporter since I felt he would act precisely like he’s acting, I applaud Trump voters willing to admit betrayal.

The line that really stuck with me was when he states, “Goldman Sachs is globalism.” This is 100% right, and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying or doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
Moving along, let’s take a closer look at some of the folks Lee focused on in his video report. From iBankCoin:
[h=3]Let’s look at the ex-Goldman operators within the Trump White House: [/h]
Gary Cohn – recently Goldman’s #2, is Trump’s chief economic advisor – who was granted an unprecedented accelerated payout of $285 Million in order to go work at the White House.
– Staunch Democrat
– Huge globalist, led Goldman delegation to restructure Greek debt during financial crisis, helping them hide debt from EU overseers in Brussels.
– Head of the National Economic Council as of January 20th, 2017
– Brought in Drew Quinn – lead negotiator of TPP

Dina Habib Powell, another top Goldman alum and former president of the Goldman Sachs foundation:
– Promoted to Deputy National Security Advisor on March 15th
– Worked in the Bush II administration
– Managing director at Goldman Sachs, named partner in 2010
– Dina’s husband Richard Powell is president at Clinton-linked Teneo
– Bill Clinton is/was a Teneo advisor
– Wikileaks emails reveal a deep and profitable relationship between Teneo, Doug Band, and the Clintons
– Teneo hired Huma Abedin while she was a State Dept. employee.
Nah, nothing to see here.
The future isn’t looking bright, and the only way Trump can politically get away with all this is if his supporters stay silent about it. Let’s hope they don’t.
Meanwhile, take a moment to vote in the following poll (Trump voters only please).
Poll for Trump voters only.
If Trump launches strikes against Syria will you drop support for him?

Empires obsess about war and domination until they collapse completely. The U.S. will be no different.

Also I have a hard time wrapping my head around why Assad would even do the chemical attack to begin with... quite obvious u won't be able to keep it quiet.. just makes no sense.. not like he's deseperate.. he's slowly winning Russia has his back and us just watching..two days later trump sends in the missiles to blow it all up so I guess we just accept what our leaders tell us..

Yeah I'm not a conspiracy theorist but after Tillerson/Haley signaled the US isn't looking to remove him, why would he then go and do that to raise the ire and attention of the international community? Pretty stupid move by someone that is usually more shrewd.

I still go with he did it because he is a vile POS but timing definitely is weird.

Seems like it was mostly down due to retail. Some saying that is weather related, tough to say. Winter was pretty mild here.

This does remind me of early 2007 when the market just kept going up and reached all time highs in Oct/Nov despite the fact there were warning signs and bad headlines all over the place all year.

-The retail bubble bursting, which will then spill into commercial real estate, which should spill into debt markets
-Energy market softness
-Rates having nowhere to go but up
-The auto bubble and all the bad debt that comes with that
-Housing/stock valuations being sky high

Atlanta fed even just revised real GDP down to .6%

And then whatever global instability you want to tack onto that.

And it still keeps on ticking

[h=1]Russian Warship Steaming Toward U.S Destroyers Off Syria Coast[/h]Early this morning we reported that as part of its response to the Syrian attack, in addition to suspending communication with U.S. forces designed to stop planes colliding over Syria, the Russian frigate Admiral Grigorovich would be deployed to the Tartus naval base in Syria. The Russian Black Sea Fleet’s frigate The Admiral Grigorovich, currently on a routine voyage, would enter the Mediterranean later on Friday, a military-diplomatic source in Moscow told TASS, adding that the ship would make a stop at the logistics base in Syria’s port of Tartus.
Russia wasted no time, and as FN reports, moments ago, the Russian frigate, Admiral Grigorovich RFS-494, crossed through the Bosphorus Strait “a few hours ago” from the Black Sea, according to a U.S. defense official.

The Russian warship is now in the eastern Mediterranean steaming in the direction of the U.S. warships. The Admiral Grigorovich is armed with advanced Kalibr cruise missiles.
According to the official version, the frigate was bound for the Syrian port of Tartus on a routine voyage, the Russian news agency TASS reported Friday, citing a military-diplomatic source.
"The Russian ship armed with cruise missiles Kalibr will visit the logistics base in Tartus, Syria," the source said, according to TASS. The ship was currently near the Black Sea straits, Tass reported. The ship left on a voyage after stopping at Novorossiisk for supplies and taking part in a joint exercise with Turkish ships in the Black Sea.
Meanwhile, Fox News adds that one of the American destroyers that launched the missiles into Syria started heading to an undisclosed location to rearm.

Certainly an unusual move

Particularly since after unloading a load of missiles onto the place no gas problems were reported at the Syrian air base

My own gut feeling is they hit a nerve agent facility on the ground on the rebel side
