I miss those times too. Also miss David Letterman back in the 80's when he did his show in New York. He was hip, outrageous, and kickin'. Dave back then was like Johnny Carson rated "R" or so it seemed. People fail to realize how times were different back then. It took people like Letterman to set up the filth that's on TV now. America got the wrong idea in some sorts because TV was supposed to get better, not worse. IMO

I agree. Letterman was great back in the 80's until the 90's when he started being an asshole to everyone.

I agree with OMT that All In The Family, Mash & Cheers were some of the greatest.

As far as Seinfeld goes, Kramer is one of my favorite characters of all time. I liken him to a metropolitan Reverend Jim.

Wow, that is both the gayest and falsest statement I've ever read. :ohno:

No kidding. You're extremely gay if you can watch that crappy show...

Favorite sitcom for me, easy. George Kostanza is probably my favorite TV character ever (even better than Kramer). Been marathoning my DVD collection lately, actually.

The Chuckles the Clown episode of Mary Tyler Moore was one of the best episodes of television ever.

Sixteen seconds of comedy gold.
Asner sells the thing to perfection.

One of my wife's faves.
It was a very smart, well acted and well written show.
65 Emmy nominations, 11 Emmy awards, and all four ladies each winning an Emmy suggest GG was one of NBC's greatest sit-com ever.
