Before Seinfeld was Cheers.

I'm sure I've seen every episode of both.

While I absolutely adore Seinfeld and it's been my favorite show since I was 12 (I'm only 21 and have grown up on the reruns and DVD)...give It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia 2 more seasons and it will come mad close.

I like Sienfeld. Good show. I didn't watch much of it at the time but was catching and episode here and there and for the most part at the time, got it. Sienfeld got real big there for a period I remember but I was going through college life and so it didn't stick even though I always thought I'd catch up on reruns. I'm yet to this day see every episode of Seinfeld. I want to though. Cheers was very big for me at the time right before Seinfeld became big, so how 'bout some shout out for Cheers?!!

Johnny Carson

I miss those times too. Also miss David Letterman back in the 80's when he did his show in New York. He was hip, outrageous, and kickin'. Dave back then was like Johnny Carson rated "R" or so it seemed. People fail to realize how times were different back then. It took people like Letterman to set up the filth that's on TV now. America got the wrong idea in some sorts because TV was supposed to get better, not worse. IMO

Friends > Seinfeld

FACT!
I respect your opinion, but not even close.
Freinds had it moments, but alot of episodes were inconsistent.
I hated the chimp episodes.

Anybody else a big MTM fan?
Now that was comedy, the way Murray played off Ted Baxter.

I will agree here. Seinfeld is about the only show anymore that I feel like I have to watch every night.

you and i might be the only 2 here... ted baxter is the funniest character of all time on tv...

i'm surprised one of the major networks hasnt come up with the idea of vintage tv night . run 4 old shows from 8 to 10 one night a week. start from episode 1 thru the end .

beats the hell out of what is on now...

i know tv land does it

my vintage night would be :

mary tyler moore
all in the family
cheers

i'd have to give some thought for my 4th one. wouldnt be seinfeld. i still watch those now.

For me it was;

MASH
Taxi
All in the Family
Sanford and Son
Honeymooners
Welcome Back Kotter

Back in the late seventies used to go to the Burbank studios and catch the live tapings of Taxi, Kotter, and Happy Days...

The Chuckles the Clown episode of Mary Tyler Moore was one of the best episodes of television ever.

I would add Barney Miller or Taxi as a 4th show for vintage TV night.
