As some of his victims attending the courtroom looked on, Watkins received from the jury the maximum possible 20 year sentence for each of the four counts, totaling 80 years. With testimony concerning 7 victims heard in this trial alone, and with stories of more victims in other states, Watkins is arguably the most prolific sex offender in Jehovah’s Witness history.

They mould their members into cold heartless beings who without a blink would readily abandon their own children and treat them as non existent. This is the most cruel, barbaric and evil religion who should not be allowed to practice in this day and age. They have been getting away with crime for far too long!!"

In the 1980s, Jehovah's Witnesses considered televangelists to be "materialistic charlatans" who had forsaken "true Christian ministry" for the glare of the spotlights. By 2014, they had set up their own broadcasting operation and recently unveiled plans for a media production center to be completed in 2026. With the help of a forgotten leaked video, I chart the organization's slide into becoming what it once condemned.
